Never realized until I was dealing with all of my health issues and couldn’t exercise, how much I require intense physical movement to process emotion. I am a physical processor so movement and somatic check ins are both very important for me. Trying to get back into more intense strength training. “10 Minutes (Original Demo Version)” is live on Bandcamp for anyone that’s into that kind of thing. This is the original demo recorded on voice memos from my phone in 2020. I had initially started writing this song in 2018, but had lyrical gaps in the verses that I was stuck on. Sometimes I will get stuck on 2 or 3 syllables for years. (As was the case for this one.) This was another one I was writing for NN, until I had fully accepted that I was actually writing a solo album.

I think I’m still processing how important this album was and is for me. Especially in terms of my confidence as a writer and producer and giving me perspective on my experience and hopes for what I am trying to accomplish as an artist. At the time of starting this project and releasing this album, I can say candidly that I had no idea. Which is why I kind of quietly released it into the wind and let it go. I was scared of it and in some ways wished it would just blow away. But several years later, the particles I’ve surrendered to the wind are starting to drift back into my face now. Which I am grateful for.

And I’m grateful that you are here.

I think this is only other fully pieced together demo version I have of any of these song. So this will be the last one of these for a while.
