KC Rae's (@kcraeofficial) 'Think I'm Gonna Die' was one of my favorite records of 2023, which was absolutely no surprise considering her work with @nownowband's albums are also amongst some of my favorites. This sad, indie pop album feels so incredibly ethereal and heartbreaking on tracks like 'Shame' and 'Parking Lot', yet also nostalgic and yearning for the days of youth like on the track 'Blockbuster'. I'm spinning this today because KC released the original demo version for 'Shame' (my favorite track on the album) on their Bandcamp today. Y'all should absolutely be checking out this fantastic album and the original demo as well.

Sometimes it helps to begin with something very simple.

Horses are deeply attuned to body and nervous system cues. If your words or external presentation don’t align with what you’re actually feeling in your body, they notice. They respond to what’s happening internally, even before we’ve fully recognized it ourselves. Sometimes all it takes is acknowledging what you are feeling, even if the feeling doesn’t change, for a horse to soften and relax around you.

It’s a reminder that our bodies are communicating with us all the time. Even when we’re not listening.

ICE OUT Benefit at First Avenue raised $70,000 for mutual aid in Minnesota. So many families and individuals are struggling to make ends meet in the wake of the wrath of ICE occupying our state. They’re still here. It’s not over.

Thank you to @tcupmn for hosting this powerful night, and to @firstavenue for allowing me to capture it!
