#AboutThisWeekend We celebrated the 4th anniversary of @thegrlsatl and baby we had a TIME. This is my favorite event of the year — hundreds of beautiful Black women, serving looks, good energy, and excellence.

I joined GRLS in May 2023 just wanting to serve through @grlsgive , but what I’ve gained — the sisterhood, the growth, the love — is more than I ever imagined.

This year, as President of the Kirkwood Chapter, I was honored to receive the GRLS Give Growth & Collaboration Award.

And Kirkwood showed OUT

My Kirkwood GRL Chanel Moulton @nellyonnelly took home Outreach Member of the Year, and I had the pleasure of presenting Member of the Year to my Kirkwood GRL, Sydney Branch @boujeelexi

My heart is so full. I don’t say this often, but I’m so proud of ME. I chose to lead this chapter to pour into these beautiful, loving, and kind women — but every single day, they pour right back into me. They show up and show out for me!(And they look GOODT doing it) Seeing them glow and grow is my greatest reward. I love y’all real bad 💋

And of course — major love to my Vee Peezy, Ro Sheezy, @radiantlyrochelle for handling BIG KIRKWOOD business and making it look easy. Just another day at the Oval 💅🏽

First week of 7th Grade for Kyndall and First Day of 17th grade 😂 (DPT School)for Trinity and yes I dropped them both off after our routine Starbucks run. I’ll never stop being present for my girls no matter how old they get. 🫶🏾

On Saturday, I surprised Trinity with a well-deserved celebration. 🤍

When she graduated on May 9th, I didn’t have the words—or honestly, the mental capacity—to celebrate her the way I wanted to or even make a post. So now, let me give my girl her long overdue and VERY well-deserved congratulations!

My girl earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Science with honors and was accepted into Mercer University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program! 👏🏾

This Friday, I get to watch her receive her white coat, and YES… I will absolutely be dropping her off on her first day of class. 😂 Idc Idc

Trinity, you’ve always had a way of manifesting great things for yourself. I’ve watched you work, fight, pray, regroup, and keep going after the life you want. There have been setbacks, but you never allowed them to become your stopping point. And THAT is what makes me so incredibly proud of you.

You deserved to be celebrated the same way you are always so intentional about celebrating everyone else. Saturday was about making sure you knew just how proud we are of you and how BIG this moment really is.

Keep being great. Keep betting on yourself. Keep manifesting. Keep making me proud.

This final post is for the ones who carried me through.

Tomorrow at 8:00 AM, I will graduate from Dillard University with my Bachelor’s of Science in Health Science.

To my village, my family, friends, mentors, teachers, and every person who poured into me throughout this journey, thank you. Thank you for loving me, praying for me, checking on me, speaking life into me, and believing in me even when I was tired, stressed, or didn’t always have the words. Thank you for being part of my reason why.

There were days I felt exhausted, overwhelmed, and uncertain, but I was never carrying it alone. God covered me, and He placed people around me who covered me too. People who reminded me who I was when life got loud, stood beside me when things felt heavy, and celebrated me even when I was too drained to celebrate myself.

I am truly blessed to have the village that I do. Y’all show up like no other. Some of y’all gave financially, some of y’all gave time, some of y’all gave advice, some of y’all gave prayers, and some of y’all simply stayed consistent and present. Every bit of it mattered. My heart is a reflection of the love, selflessness, and strength of the people I’m blessed to be surrounded by.

“If you ain been apart of it, at least you got to witness ”

When I first got to Dillard University, I had an advisor tell me that PT school was hard to get into and maybe I should look into OT or athletic training.

But purpose will always outlast opinions.

For the next 3 years, I will be attending Mercer University to pursue my Doctor of Physical Therapy. 1 of 38 selected out of hundreds of applicants.

Many people who look like me do not get this opportunity. 3% of licensed physical therapists in the United States are Black women. Becoming the first future clinical doctor in my family means more than words can explain. Representation matters, and I carry every prayer, every sacrifice, and every person who believed in me.

I knew this was my purpose. I cried, prayed, and asked God to make it clear if this was truly in His plans for me. On a Tuesday, I prayed for clarity. On Thursday, I got the acceptance call. Some blessings are too specific to ignore.

All I ever needed was an opportunity.
