Thank YOU to everyone who made it out to this class, whose intentions were coming to this class, and those who constantly support me with hugs or words of encouragement throughout my choreo journey. Noticing the growth and the flowers I’ve learned to give myself throughout this process has not been super easy — but with all of you constantly showing up in different ways has made it easier. It’s a constant process to learn how to push through imposter syndrome.

Hosting this class was extremely important to me. Teaching to songs like this are extremely important to me. Having a community like this is extremely important to me. As I’m turning 28, I’m finally letting my 8-year-old self fully be happy in what she wants to do & not allowing the outside world dictate otherwise. Being bullied in grade school was something that stopped me for a while — I refuse to keep letting it write my story for me.

I had suchhh a fun time learning from @janeeva_pettway at @speaknowdancelater!

I loved how she opened the space and allowed dancers to provide feedback on one another and I love how even in a packed house she still took the time to give personalized advice to any dancer that asked. So excited to take from her advice and add them to my own journey 💃🏾

A time was had at the very first SESH by @creating.beyondthespace!! Loveddd getting to be around dancers in a more intimate setting, hyping each other up, learning from each other, and just connecting without words. Overly enjoyed this choreo 😮‍💨 Love that I can see myself growing 🌻

On my 23rd I thought to myself “wouldn’t it be so crazy if I taught bootywork next year since it lands directly on my birthday?” I then proceeded to laugh it off because I felt that wasn’t possible just yet. I still had way too much to learn, I was still so green, I didn’t talk to people enough to make them wanna show up.

Fast forward a year later and I’m teaching choreography I made by myself to a SOLD OUT bootywork class FILLED with people who came to support me. Sometimes the crazy ideas aren’t so crazy. Sometimes it’s the universe giving you little sneak peeks so you can get to work and start preparing.

Thank you endlessly to Tiffany for believing in me enough to immediately say “okay so you’re teaching duh” as soon as she found out. Thank you Lizzy for the cupcakes, Sarai for the flowers, Janelle for the present, Reesie for the biggest surprise of my LIFE 😭 and everyone who took time out of their day to show up for me 🥹🥹 I’m still on a high and I’m forever grateful. 24 is off to a great start!! 😋😋😋 by @keananajee

After my first PFO last year, I really hit the ground running with this dancing thing 😅 I took so many classes, embarrassed myself in said classes in the name of learning, attended workshops and training programs afraid it would be obvious that I was a newbie (sometimes it was and that’s okay), and overall just practiced all day every day whenever I could with the hopes of someone wanting to give me a chance to perform again.

Somehow I was blessed with the opportunity to not only represent TEAM FUEGOO but also ASSIST @officialtiffanymonique alongside the incredible @therealdancelizzy! I really thank you both for trusting me to be an extra brain for this process. And thank you for keeping “hood thang” in there 😝😝

TO MY TEAM FUEGOOOOO!!! Half of what makes dancing in Charlotte so special is the community you get to be a part of once you start. I’m so grateful to have been surrounded by such hardworking, friendly, and incredibly funny people for these past eight weeks! Thank you for your dedication and your patience as I learn what it means to lead and be someone worth following.

Thank you to my family and my friends who came out to support and cheer for us 🥹🥹🥹 It was so damn loud in there!!!!

Of course thank you @anaohboyzee for continuing to give us Project Full Out every year and to @chantellehua @crayzeebeat and everyone behind the scenes for a smooth run of show, thank you all!
