POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Some people teach you a skill. Others change the way you see the whole game. Dan Fontes did both for me.

Tomorrow morning at the Pinball Expo, I’ll be giving a presentation on my mentor, Dan Fontes: the lessons he has shared with the pinball community, the lives he has shaped along the way, and why his influence continues to guide so many of us today.

Dan’s impact reaches well beyond one person. In the pinball community, he has inspired players, collectors, and builders to share what they know, welcome newcomers, and keep the hobby thriving.

Beyond the arcade and the tournament floor, he has shown what it looks like to invest in people and to lift up the community around you. His generosity and leadership have touched countless lives, and the ripple effect continues.

If you’re at the show, come by, grab a seat, and hear the story. Bring a friend, bring your questions, and bring your love of nostalgia.

See you there!

I am grateful to participate in “The Spirit of the Garde” for their centennial celebration. @gardeartscenter is one of those places filled with nostalgia, and love, quirks, and passion. they allow for experimentation and support nearly anyone who asks. Most notable for me, Jeanne and Steve (Jen Z and all of the crew) make everyone feel like we’re all best friends and belong together. I am honored to participate with a watercolor on paper.

Thank you @steve_sigel @jeannesigel @jennifercorsizembruski

Building inclusion, one picnic table at a time!

We had a great time working alongside the Rise Up Group on an accessible “Able Table” picnic table, with the support of East Lyme Parks & Recreation.

Painted by lead Artist Kristine Holohan. We give a special shout-out to Mika Zelikov, our fantastic intern at Pattagansett Art Center, who helped bring the project to life through the initial sketch and design process. It’s exciting to see an idea move from a sketch on paper to something that will serve our community!

This project is about more than building a picnic table, it’s about creating spaces where everyone can gather, participate, connect, and enjoy the outdoors together. ♿️❤️

And be sure to look for the Able Table created in honor of Andy a special reminder of how one person’s impact can continue to bring people together.

Thank you to the Rise Up Group, East Lyme Parks & Recreation, and everyone who contributed their time, creativity, and energy to making this project happen. We’re proud to be part of building a more accessible and inclusive community!

We had a dinner party recently and realized the platters were generic.
BORING.

I’m happy to be back in the ceramics studio making some hors d’oeuvre platters. Here they are in the greenwear phase…hoping I don’t totally mess them all up when glazing 🤞

I’m really into it. What other flora and or fauna should I add to my next platters? by @keekeehol

#gameofshrooms finders keepers!

I may be the only one doing this in my area. I hope someone finds this goodie bag with stickers, a print, and mushroom bowl.

I’ve been creating fun pieces at the Stonington Community Center. Thanks to all who guide me in the wheel, encourage my creativity, and lend me new glazed to try (like the junebug glaze). Creatures will likely be release through my @guardianofwonder project

There is a hole in my heart.

I will miss the support that my mentor~one of my dearest friends has transitioned. He shared technique, networks, friends, compassion, and generosity with me…he was a master artist…and so much more. I didn’t take pics all the time like I should but he documented our projects and oh how we loved to be foodies together!

Dan Fontes, like many artists, was never recognized like he should have been while he lived. He inspired an incredible amount of wonder in people through his early site specific art which I was happy to assist in many of the restorations of his large scale works.

I am one of many that he mentored and I cherrish the time I spent studying with him.

@danfontesart was like a second father to me. He guided me & was one of my greatest cheerleaders. He and his partner Julie invited me to share so much life and celebration.

Here are some of the projects and times we shared. I am honored to have studied with him and be able to spend time with him. I certainly will carry his training, palette, and advocacy in my work.
