Always a pleasure to catch up on the phone to one of the standard bearers of British pro wrestling that is @kingofengland2002.

His legacy is a colourful one and certainly one that paved the way for guys who have reached the top of wrestling peak. A true innovator of some outrageous moves but Jody’s ability to make others look like a million dollars is second to none. His selling was unprecedented.

#How this guy ain’t part of a major promotion on some capacity is beyond me. The amount of knowledge that Jody has could turn a good wrestler into a phenomenal one if wrestlers utilised his experience. Not only that he’s just a top lad who I have and always will have time for outside the ring too.

Here’s hoping we can catch up somewhere down the road my mate.

Paid my respects to Ben yesterday at the memorial created in Newcastle yesterday with Sarah who did tours either him in Europe with NWE.

The outpouring of love., admiration and respect is abundant here and is growing by the day. On the way back to Sunderland we got on the wrong train and almost ended in South Shields . We both said I bet he’s up there looking down, laughing and calling us daft Mackem bastards 😆

Rest well Ben 🙏❤️

On my way back to Gods country. Back to the native North East. Back to Sunderland. On my way back home ❤️

You can take the lad out of the North East but you can’t take the North East out of the lad. That’s why Im always happy to be coming back home.

I wrote below 10 years ago- you will never be forgotten Trav - man this week has sucked 😞

I always wear my Trav shirt underneath my Ruffneck top. Been doing since we lost him. Never show it to anyone but last night was appropriate as it was #kristravisday yesterday.

I don’t think there’s a day that the people who knew him as a friend or a wrestler goes by without thinking about him based on the stories and the outpouring of love there was yesterday.

I didn’t put a story up yesterday because I was too busy reading everyone else’s stories so here’s mine.

When I went to visit him at the hospice in Jan, we spoke for a good few hours about stuff about everything but lots of wrestling as he told me how much he missed it. Out of the blue he just cut me off and said “KC can I ask you a question “ of which I said sure and he said “mate why do you always beat yourself up when it comes to wrestling”
I was always terrible for doing it. I think it’s because I was brought into wrestling with such incredible talent and always thought I was beneath everyone.
He turned around and said “stop doing it and stop doing it now. I love what you do . You are a big menacing bastard and I love your new gimmick. Just go out there and do what you do best and enjoy it because of you don’t then there’s no point pal”

Ever since then I’ve never looked back. I believe in myself now. I don’t doubt what I’m capable of now and enjoy every aspect of it and that’s why I’m having so much fun with wrestling now and I think it’s reflective in my performances of which I’ve gone on from strength to strength.

It was all down to what Trav said. I miss you, I’ll never forget you and I love yer pal.

Duck one DNA 😊

I’ve been asked a quite a few times recently if I’m getting itchy feet about wrestling again because I did that coaching spot for @thenationalwrestlingleague and the answer is ……..ABSOLUTELY NOT!

My time has come and gone. The reason why I retired for was because physically I was really struggling. Mentally I knew I was not moving around like I used to and I wanted to retire on my own terms and I did exactly that.

I got nothing more to prove to anyone. I’m still in half decent shape for a man of my age but that’s because I ain’t in pain from wrestling . I want to see younger guys thrive and realise their opportunities though so if I can help in anyway shape or form then I’d love to do that.

So in closing. Am I wrestling again….nope!
Do I still want to be involved….yer damn right!

Let’s see what the future brings.

Part two of the bullshit I had to endure from @madrhi_ on the way back from Manchester. I hate, I hate, I hate the Venga boys.
