Fifty years on Earth, twelve years of marriage, and more than two weeks with the humans who matter most. These images represent the people in Sicily, Rome, and Croatia, giving us many amazing memories that I am still processing in positive reflection. World travel is essential to expanding your horizon and forces you to alter your perspective about your own (and others) life-existence. From golden hour swims and numerous beaches, lots of cobblestone wandering, to a fisherwoman holding her spot, and kids chasing bubbles through a Roman piazza. This trip was never about the itinerary. It was about who I was with and the spectrum of humanity that contributed to the frames.

Food in Trieste is a influenced by Austrian, Baltic and Italian cuisines. Sveva, with Trieste Unique Tours, guided us through regional flavors, wine, history and culture at local spots. Booked with @viator with @keithco_3.0
- Trattoria Giovanni (gulasch and patate in tecia, with Cabernet) Close to a Hungarian Goulash but with more tomatoes.
- ⁠Bar Buffet Borsa (Baccalà mantecato and sardoni in savor with Prosecco)
- ⁠Salumai (prosciutto cotto and Triestine liptauer cheese)
- ⁠Ciketo (pesto & dried tomato and salame of the region with Friulano)
- ⁠Liberty (bignè with Illy Capo in B) B stands for Bicchiere which is glass in Italian and how Triestines like their coffee on order to see the layers.

Trieste brought a break from the heat so we got to enjoy multiple city walks in this wonderful city with so much history that has been influenced by so many cultures. Some favorite sites were breakfast at Cafe San Marco, the harbor, the piazzas, the canals, and the castle, amphitheater, and basilica on the hill. So much to see and we didn’t get to the Carso, Castello Miramar, or the “Little Cheese” up close. There’s always next time! With @keithco_3.0

Grado started as a fishing colony and now is mainly a seaside resort town that is characteristically Roman with narrow streets, quaint piazzas, and friendly people. Down one of the narrow streets, Ristorante Tavernetta All’Androne is a local favorite and a destination for vinophiles and seafood fans from near and far. With @keithco_3.0

Aquileia was once a major Roman civilization with estimated population close to 100,000 in the 2nd century AD. It is one of the most significant archaeological sites in northern Italy. Its ruins, including foundations, pillars, mosaics and an early Christian basilica, are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With @keithco_3.0

Ristorante Trattoria al Cacciatore at @subidasirk is the more “traditional” restaurant at the resort and has 1 Michelin star. Along with a la carte options, they offer traditional and more progressive tasting menus. We chose the 7-course traditional tasting menu - starting with a selection of amuse bouche from the chef, elk carpaccio, vegetable pouches, orb with pasta zucchini flower and mushrooms, brown millet pasta with zucchini and marrow, tart apple sorbet, venison fillet with trout roe, duck breast, and 4 desserts (2 featured here) millefoilles and chocolate truffle with gellato. Carlos, the sommelier, selected great regional wines for us all night. With @keithco_3.0
