As is the tradition with our 3rd Saturday Concerts series, all proceeds go directly to the musicians. Suggested entry is $15, cash, at the door. Announcing a hometown (ish) show, one month from today! With my dear friend from Memphis @kellyhuntmusic who will be in the north country for a rare day to kick off our duo album release tour.

We will be doing a good bit of collaboration on this tour - and will have vinyl + for you. Sorry no cassette tapes. @sampaguitalive is a vinyl loving / art-in-all-it’s-forms venue and one of my favorite places to gather for music - so we are feeling very delighted with this arrangement. See you there?

“Little Match Girl” - honored to be joined by my talented, woodsy friends @jed_laplant and @ariana.laplant on this one.

Art by Abby Hansen - I asked my sister for a sidewalk chalk drawing to pair with the song, and she came up with this in approximately 9 minutes on her driveway before taking her kids to school 🤎.

We read a lot of fairytales together in childhood, including those by Hans Christian Andersen. One of his that I often went back to was The Little Match Girl. I was perplexed by her suffering - and everyone else seemingly at ease with looking the other way.

The green room at @sampaguitalive in Aitkin MN. Richard is the caretaker/owner/maybe wizard of this place, and kindly let me listen to some test presses down here.

And just down the street there’s a new listening venue beneath @the_ripple_center called The Underground. This Saturday the 10th is when I’ll be playing there, with my friends @laplantroad and everybird.

I’m grateful for these people and these gathering spaces and for live music and for this short life wherein even one meaningful moment with you is a gift. There are still some tickets available, though I’m told VIP is sold out. Can’t wait for those folks to see up our noses 🤎. by @kelleysmithmusic

A November tour with my friend @kellyhuntmusic - We’ve made a 3 year habit of tootling around Minnesota and the driftless just after the leaves have turned. This time we’ll be celebrating our new records. Kelly Hunt just offered up her gorgeous “Requiem For A Sleepless Night” this month, and I will have “Flowers,” come early November. We’re honored to be playing in these spaces, and there will be some very special guests for a few of them. I’m sure we will work some banjo-ing in, too. Details are below. TICKETS can be found most easily, I suppose, if you visit my website. We’d love to see you!

Brainerd Lakes - we have a show coming up pretty soon. Come check out a new venue in Aitkin, MN called “The Underground” (because it is actually underground). These are two duos I am honored to share a moment with. @laplantroad released their first album this past spring, and they’re bluegrass raised. Guitar and mandolin, predominantly, they play circles around the rest of us - but they are humble and honestly, I don’t mind this kind of encircling. everybird is the moody, poetic project of Holly Shaw and Christian McShane. I’ve not heard anything like it. Spoken word, harp, ethereal guitar, cello, and soaring vocals.

“COME DOWN OH MAID” is the first recording I’ve offered up in official ways in 4 years, but it has been near to me for a while now. It was inspired by a Tennyson poem I once coerced my husband into reading aloud to me at a dive bar - And is the final track on my new record “FLOWERS” (out 11/6/26). The song is pretty open ended, and you can go either way with it. For me, I just ache when I sing this one.

It’s available today! If you visit my bandcamp page, you can PRE-ORDER VINYL and CD’s - and download this song right away. You can also look it up wherever you stream music. I hope you’re able to find it. And whatever else we artists say in this odd moment when we release a piece of our soul into the world.

Hmm… If you know me just a little, I’m either at a loss for words or really the opposite. I think, the former in this case. Lately I have fallen out of my fitness routine (forest jogging) and my bangs have grown out. I sit in front of the computer for hours typing out codes that are somehow attached to songs I wrote during some of the most organic moments of my past 4 years alive. All because I want no one to feel alone, I suppose…myself included. The photo was chosen impulsively, and taken by Ariana at Bellows in St. Paul.

I made a record with some wondrous people, including Adam Krinsky there in the background. It’s called “Flowers” and will be available on NOV 6, 2026 on Liatris Records. One of the songs will be available this Friday 🤎. Looking forward to sharing with you. by @kelleysmithmusic
