What a wild and wonderful month- I am deeply grateful to the two teams at @artistry_mn & @mixedbloodtheatre for the opportunity to tell these two beautiful stories with these people at this time. So many people to thank and congratulate! So much love for these artists and art makers and all the folks that are keeping art alive and accessible. And of course my fam that makes it all possible and worth it.
The paper wrote a story. And that is so nice. I’m mostly glad that they are telling stories about theater- we have amazing theater and artists in this town that need and deserve their work amplified. And while this story was about me and my month of directing, this is the story of many artists-doing several projects at a time, putting together a life of art for our community. This is what we do. Feeling extra grateful to have had the privilege to bring Will to Chicago to start his college career at Columbia College. There are so many emotions wrapped up in it all. We will miss his daily hanging around so very much. But what an adventure he will have! He is majoring in Creative Writing and will be surrounded by diversity and the arts- his Papa’s wildest dreams. 18. Feeling so much these days I could actually burst. Very proud, very humbled, amazed, happy, sad but mostly just so grateful. He has always been such a loving, determined, hilarious and thoughtful kid. He is fully himself. What a gift that is. Happy day @will.warder I am in awe of you. by @kellifosterwarder

Full of gratitude at the end of the Adaptive PI Floor Hockey State tourney. Didn’t end exactly how we would want but they took it to overtime and played their hearts out. 2nd place!

Hey y’all.
I had a great black history month day today seeing Terrance Blanchard’s Fire Shut Up In My Bones at the Ordway. It was beautiful- creative, artistic, excellent. The skills of these musicians - breathtaking.
I want to spend the rest of the month just celebrating. The stories of racism keep on coming but my heart needs joy.
The contributions of black folks to our culture and society are so deep and wide. Everyone’s contributions should always be celebrated.
The voices of the marginalized in our community have made us who we are. Our stories, our music, our dance, our theater, our visual arts- either directly or indirectly - have all been created, influenced and touched by our black, brown, women, LGBTQ, and differently abled neighbors. And isn’t that amazing!?!
Thankful for an inspiring day. 💪🏽❤️

Will’s best friend Emiliano passed away this week. We are devastated. Gutted. These two had a deep friendship forged at a time when they both needed it the most. They held each other up and held each other accountable. I cannot imagine Will’s life - or any of ours - without E. His mother and little brother are going through the unimaginable. We are all doing our best but 17 years is simply not enough. Sharing the go fund me in my bio if you are able to help or feel so moved.
Thank you for your prayers for his family and for Will. I know we will honor Emiliano for the rest of our lives. For now we just hold our breath and wish it wasn’t so. by @kellifosterwarder
