I knew I had to paint a goose when I saw them in Germany. The easiest part? The feet! The hardest part? The feathery body. 🪿 Fun Fact: I had a pet duck when I was about 10 years old. We lived in the city! My dad brought 2 ducklings home out of the blue one summer. I named mine Buttercup and I loved her.🧡When she was full grown, we brought her to my uncle’s farm and she lived happily with the chickens. Maybe I will paint a duck next. #gouache #painting #goose #farm by @kellycreates

This is my first sketch on our Austria trip. We had a lovely @airbnb in Kitzbuhel, and one morning I sat on our patio outside and sketched this church tower that was peeking over our hedge in the distance- St Andreas Rectory (swipe to see a quick video).I wish I had time to paint all the churches here. I love the onion domes! @kitzbuehel_tirol #sketching #watercolour #usk #sketchbook by @kellycreates

Ahhhh Kitzbuhel! Austria is so beautiful - hiking in the mountains makes me feel both energized and peaceful💚This is my title page in my new sketchbook @speedball_art and a few pics of this majestic landscape. More sketches to come… (and I forgot how much fun hand lettering is. Makes me want to pull out my parallel pen when I’m back home to practice gothic Blackletter🖤) #urbansketch #austria #watercolour #sketchbook by @kellycreates

I’ve also been busy practicing portraits. Here are 6 different studies of the same person. Switching up mediums is a really great learning experience. I’m usually a “one and done” type of person but painting the same subject repeatedly has taught me a lot. 🤓 by @kellycreates

I’m fascinated by watercolour portraiture. Well all portraiture actually. The mystery is how to achieve a likeness. I couldn’t quite get it in this lesson. Some day I will figure it out. Thanks to @margrietaasman_art for sharing her talents in this @sktchy class. #watercolour #portrait #mixedmedia by @kellycreates

I’m back to watercolour portrait study - with another amazing lesson from @margrietaasman_art @sktchy 🥳Used my new @carandache Luminance colour pencils from @opusartsupplies to draw and add finishing touches. On toned paper @strathmoreart ✏️ I am surprised how much I love this mixed media style of portraits. by @kellycreates
