This is a big one. Years in the making. Our collection of paintings and words will travel around Montana until the end of 2027. We built crates (by we I mean @kienadrian ). We printed a book (a limited number of which will be free at each location). Beyond excited for these shows! Big huge thanks to the @clarkchateau for sponsoring this as a @magdaart_1972 traveling exhibition. Hope to see you out there. by @kellypacker

I really want to thank the @theshaftnews, everyone that comes together to create it, and specifically @jessejamesmontana and @meganchangcreative. Not only does it look fabulous thanks to Megan, but Jesse captured some of the thinking behind the work in a concise way that really nails in. Other people writing about your work is such a rare treat. I really appreciate the whole thing. by @kellypacker

We spent almost a year in Chambéry France in 07-08. I started drawing buildings. @kienadrian bought a Top bike and rode it on mountain roads in hiking boots. Today the Tour de France departed from Chambéry and there was our apartment! Boulevard de Lemenc. And Adrian has ridden the Col des Prés which is in the stage today.

Not a lot has changed I guess. Buildings and bikes. by @kellypacker

Marshall was one of those people that seemed to have lived multiple lives. Every time you talked to him he mentioned something different he had done. Like that he saw the Pixies at a small club in the 90s. Or that one time when he started a music event called Porch Fest.

He was a whole-hearted champion of the arts. He lived his love of the arts. Arts and artists. He wouldn’t shy from doing the hard sell or talking his artists up. He knew that was necessary to keeps things going. Keep people creating. He traveled to see art. Specifically. Not just a side-quest. He would drive a thousand miles to deliver a painting.

In 2022, he somehow found my work online and messaged me about a studio visit. I hadn’t heard of @marmot_art_space and did some digging. It was surprisingly difficult to even find a picture of him. But I was impressed by the other artists he showed. He drove all the way over from Spokane. Which he ended up doing a bunch of times. Sometimes he stayed at the Motel 6 (which in Butte is an act of bravery). And we had long walks and talks. He would only text. Or call. Never email. He had a system. Systems. He was always gracious. Always interested. Always drinking coffee.

I am forever grateful for Marshall for championing my work. I can’t believe I won’t get another emoji filled text from him. Or be able to text him a Rick Bartow painting I saw. Marshall was one-of-a-kind. And all heart. He will be missed. As Marshall would say, if you have your health, don’t take it for granted. Rest in peace my friend 🎨🏆❤️ by @kellypacker

I really had the best time with the students and faculty at @liedartcenter at Whitworth. It was a real treat to be back in an art department. The smell of the ceramics studio. The buzz of a classroom. It was a special thing for students to show me what they were working on and give feedback. I also liked the cross-pollination of the architecture and english students in the gallery scribbling away in notebooks. And Whitworth has a stellar art collection so every building you go in has amazing original art, even the cafeteria. Pretty smitten with the whole thing and super grateful for the opportunity. Show comes down on Friday. by @kellypacker
