“Tired people don’t dream well.” 😮‍💨

Halfway through the year, I struggled to dream. It felt like I was just surviving.

So I went back to three conversations from the podcast — a missionary, a maternal mental wellness consultant, and a lawyer-turned-writer. Completely different lives, same conclusion:

You cannot build something eternal from an empty tank.

Rest isn’t the reward for finishing the year. It’s how you get the vision back for the next one.

Comment RESET and I’ll send you the full playlist. Part 2 drops next week. 👇 taken in Berlin, Germany by @kenoshawhitehead

This Juneteenth hit different for me. I have served on the sidelines of social justice work for several years, but earlier this year, something radically shifted for me—IN me, really. The Lord is calling me to lock in and lead out in a new and more sacrificial, surrendered way. Days like yesterday vehemently remind me that the life I freely live today as a black woman, wife, mother, attorney, business owner, homeowner, REGISTERED VOTER since 18 years old (and the list goes on) is a reality and rhythm that costs countless, courageous souls THEIR OWN LIFE AND FREEDOM. I never want to lose awareness that the trails on which I daily travel were blazed with their blood, sweat, and tears. I am a figment of their wildest imagination, and still, on an immense many fronts, the fight for freedom continues. I am beginning to discern exactly how that fight looks for me in this next season of my career and calling. I am not ready yet, but I am prayerfully preparing.
———
We had a meaningful and memorable experience at the @mscivilrightsmuseum and @museumofmshistory for the 2026 Juneteenth Jubilee “celebrating culture, community, and the emancipation of Black Americans.” Our family is grateful to all who made this family-friendly, free event a stellar success! #juneteenth by @kenoshawhitehead

Today is International Albinism Awareness Day. 💛

If you’re new here (and it’s not obvious 😂), I am a Black woman living with albinism, a rare genetic disorder that, in my case, has caused a complete absence of pigment (melanin) in my skin, hair, and eyes. As a result, I also have ocular albinism, which means I navigate a moderate degree of visual impairment.

Before I found beauty and belonging in Christ alone, I hated how I looked, and I resented God for allowing me to be born with an abnormal appearance. I lived the majority of my youth wrestling with loneliness, depression, confusion, anger, and suicidal ideations. Not to mention, I made toxic life choices that reflected that brokenness.

Now, can somebody say:
B
U
T,
GOD!

There are many miraculous layers to my testimony of how the Lord healed me—through truth of Scripture, power of prayer, and the consecration of fasting—to behold myself in HIS IMAGE.

Slowly, but surely though, the very thing I viewed as a burden became a platform. Through ministry, activist acting and modeling, public speaking, and advocacy, I have had opportunities to share my story of redemption with people across the country and around the world. And what I once wished away became a pivotal way God opened doors for me to tell others about His faithfulness and the transformative power of Jesus to change what ONLY HE CAN.

So today, I celebrate albinism. I celebrate difference. More than anything though, I celebrate my Sovereign God who never makes mistakes.

Lastly, if you ever wonder why nothing about you or your life has been ordinary, consider that an EXTRAordinary calling may be connected to the pain. So don’t despise your difference. Because if you’re like me, the thing that sets you apart may be the thing that sets you on purpose.

When a potential client wonders if I will be a fierce advocate:

. . . . . Ten years ago today (thank you FB memories), I was a 3rd year law student intern
. . . . . in a ring
. . . . . holding a gator’s mouth shut
. . . . . while wearing a dress.

Ain’t nothing changed but the year. 🐊😏⚖️

But ask me if I would do this again. 🤣 by @kenoshawhitehead
