Well…here we go. 🎙️ This is something I never really pictured myself doing. But I also can’t think of a better time to do it. After 25+ years in broadcasting, I stepped away from a career I loved to travel the world with Michelle and Everly for 10 months. That experience changed the way I think about family, success, fulfillment—and what I want this next chapter of my life and career to look like. So when the opportunity came along to compete to become the next Top Host and create a six-episode podcast produced by @iHeartRadio, I thought…why not? Maybe that’s the point. The last couple of years have been about getting outside the box, getting uncomfortable and asking, “What if?” And now I’m doing it again. If I win, this podcast IS The Frenchitivity Podcast—conversations with families, couples, individuals, athletes and others who have taken a leap, challenged what life is “supposed” to look like and pursued something more fulfilling. In many ways, it feels like a culmination of my broadcasting career. I’ve always loved interviewing athletes, but the best conversations were rarely about the stats. They were about the PERSON—the decisions, setbacks, risks and moments that changed them. Those are the conversations I want to keep having…just with the lens opened a whole lot wider. For years, talented young hockey players in Southern California have often had to leave the state and head east to find the next level of competition. Teemu Selanne explains why the USHL’s expansion into Southern California could change that path completely—creating the possibility for a young player to develop through every level right here at home…and maybe one day pull on an Anaheim Ducks sweater.
