Today is my first baby’s 14th birthday! 😭

The first person to call me Mommy. The first person who depended on me. The first person I made sacrifices for. The first person to love me unconditionally and give me my first taste of motherhood.

At 1, you were so special to me, and at 14, you still are. Now, you do get on my LAST nerve 😂 but I love you tremendously! 😘

I’ve been thinking about new ways to do what I already love doing: connecting people, elevating what they’re building, and creating opportunities for people to be seen.

So I created Put Me On.

Quick conversations with entrepreneurs about what they’re building, what they’ve learned along the way, the relationships that have mattered, and a little bit of who they are beyond the business.

But there’s one part I especially love.

Now that I’ve had time to process, today came with so many emotions. My baby entered kindergarten today. 😭

When the opportunity presented itself for Koren to enter kindergarten early, I was against it because I didn’t want to move too fast and then have him fail because I pushed him too much.

Then the prophecy came: “Don’t allow your fears to become his.” I knew it was God, so I agreed to allow him to enter kindergarten early. 😭

I agreed, but not without reservations. I just knew I couldn’t show them because I didn’t want my fears to affect him.

This morning, as I was getting him ready, I believe he could sense that I was a little sad. Out of the blue, he stopped me, looked me in my eyes, and said:

“Mommy, I can do this. God is with me…” 🥲

I didn’t cry then, but I did later. Not out of fear anymore, but because I realized that he absolutely can do this and so much more.

I’m cheering him on every step of the way.

Cheers to a successful school year for my baby.

Go, Koren, go! ❤️ If you know Koren, please don’t stop praying for my baby 😂😂

My momma would be so proud. 😭
