On August 25, 2026, Kern-Inyo Sectional officers threw their first ever event, COLC!! 14 of our chapters came out to Lone Pine, CA to meet for our leadership conference! Your officer team spent all summer, countless meetings and changes to be able to put on an unforgettable event for the members of their section! We went over our serious business, then got to the funs like Our Member Spotlights, Monthly Newsletters, Chapter Visits, and our team workshop, Shark Tank!! We had so much fun connecting with all of our members and being able to connect with all of them individually and in groups! After all of our business, We had a great time with our members at the Museum of Western Film History! We hope all of our members and guests enjoyed the event we put on for them! A huge congratulations to @foothillffa for winning first place in our Shark Tank workshop🏆🥳!! We hope to see you all soon ! 🌱🌱

We want to give a big shoutout and thanks to @lonepineffa for supplying the space and lunch for our members! Their support means the world to us and we love that they came out to help us set up and feed our hungry members when lunch came around! They’ve been doing this for the longest and we hope they are always around to help!!

Get ready to meet your 26’-27 Sectional President, Elijah Hernandez!

Hey Kern-Inyo FFA! My name is Elijah Hernandez, and I am honored to serve as your 2026–2027 Sectional President.

Our Presidents leading us out of the darkness and into the glorious sunlight of brotherhood and cooperation! 🍼☀️

As I approach my senior year at Highland High School, I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve the members of our section. Throughout my FFA journey, I’ve learned that leadership isn’t defined by a position or title, but by the willingness to serve others with humility, purpose, and consistency. To me, leadership means investing in others, creating opportunities to grow, and celebrating their success.

Beyond FFA, I serve as President of my high school’s AVID organization and am concurrently enrolled at Bakersfield College, pursuing associate degrees in Liberal Arts and Architecture. Balancing high school, college, FFA, and leadership commitments has taught me the importance of being intentional, ambitious, and trusting God in every step.

My SAE experiences have also allowed me to explore agriculture beyond the classroom. This summer, I completed a paid placement with Grimmway Produce Group as a Shipping & Logistics Intern, gaining firsthand experience in agricultural logistics and exportation. I’m also completing a production SAE by raising a turkey to exhibit at the Kern County Fair.

As your Sectional President, my goal is to serve alongside you and be someone you feel comfortable approaching with an idea, question, or simply to introduce yourself. Every member has a place in this organization, and I look forward to helping each of you discover your potential as a leader.

Get ready to meet your 26’-27 Sectional Vice President, Amelia Camou!

Hey Kern-Inyo!
My name is Amelia Camou, and I’m a junior at Garces Memorial High School, where I proudly serve as my chapter’s Historian. I am incredibly honored to serve as your 2026–2027 Kern-Inyo Sectional Vice President, and I can’t wait to make this year one to remember.

Our Vice President on her way to assist in directing the work of our organization! 🍼🚜

My SAE projects reflect my passion for agriculture and livestock. I raise and show a market goat, two market sheep, a breeding ewe, and two beef heifers. I also raise a herd of 40 Pygmy goats, and through my breeding program I’ve had the opportunity to sell goats internationally. Through these experiences, I’ve learned the value of dedication, responsibility, and always striving to improve.

One of my favorite FFA memories has to be driving back to our Made for Excellence (MFE) hotel after grabbing pizza with my chapter while we all sang “Mr. Saturday Night” at the top of our lungs. It’s a simple memory, but it reminds me that FFA isn’t just about contests and conferences, it’s about the friendships, laughter, and moments that stay with you long after the event is over.

Outside of my blue jacket, I love spending time with my family, going on car rides with my friends, and playing tennis with my dad and sister. Whether I’m spending time with the people I love or caring for my animals, those moments remind me to appreciate the little things and the people who support me every step of the way.

As your 2026–2027 Sectional Vice President, I’m excited to bring fresh ideas to our section and create opportunities for every member to feel included, challenged, and inspired. I hope we can grow together by trying new things, supporting one another, and making this a year filled with unforgettable experiences.

I’m looking forward to meeting each of you, hearing your ideas, and building connections across Kern-Inyo. Please don’t be afraid to come say hi, I can’t wait to get to know all of you and make this an incredible year together!

Get ready to meet your 26’-27 Sectional Secretary, Gia Wattenbarger!

Hi Kern Inyo!! My name is Gia Wattenbarger and I am beyond excited to serve as your 2026-2027 Secretary! I am a Senior at Garces Memorial High school where I currently serve as chapter President.

Our Secretary on her way to meet with other secretaries! 🌽🍼

My favorite FFA memory was this past year’s State Conference. I had the ability to connect with FFA members across the state, build connections, and learn what leadership means to me. I loved every minute I spent getting to be involved, and have fun while learning.

My SAE projects consist of my market lambs, and dairy heifers! I have shown dairy cattle for 4 years, and sheep for 2. This year, I have 2 lambs and 2 heifers! My SAE projects teach me patience, dedication, and responsibility while helping me grow within the agriculture industry.

When I’m not in the jacket, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family! I love getting to spend time with those around me regardless of what I am doing. I also enjoy painting, riding horses, reading, and playing pickleball!

I’m so excited to get to know all of you! I hope to grow alongside each and every one of you, and watch as leaders are built through actions!

Get ready to meet your 26’-27 Sectional Treasurer , Alexis Diaz!

Hey Kern-Inyo! My name is Alexis Diaz, and I am headed into my senior year at North High School where I serve as my chapter’s Vice President.

Treasurer in the making! 💰🍼

My favorite FFA memory has to be attending my first State Conference this year and serving as a delegate for my chapter! I really enjoy meeting new people as well as growing closer with some of my best friends, and State Conference was a great opportunity for me to do this. Additionally, I was able to learn more about leadership and how our own individual experiences shape the way we lead, and I hope that I am able to apply some of what I learned during my year of service!

My SAE project this year is a market turkey named Apollo. This is my first livestock project and I hope to learn more about the time management and commitment aspects of livestock.

Outside of my blue jacket I really enjoy spending time with friends and family, playing video games, or playing sports. Some of my favorites include Minecraft, FIFA, and NBA 2K. I also really enjoy playing basketball, soccer, football, weightlifting, going on the occasional run, and I recently picked up tennis!

I am so excited for the opportunity to meet all of you throughout my year of service and hear your stories, as well as seeing how you show up as leaders in your lives. Leadership is much more than a title and I hope that each and every member of the Kern-Inyo Section can make the impact of a true leader on their community!
