My Ōtsuka Lōtec N° 5 Kai serving it’s purpose!

The design of the watch makes it so that the time is shown using the minute track on the right side of the dial, with the satellite hour disk aligning at the top when a new hour starts. Time can still be read clearly even when the watch is half covered by a cuff. Perfect for discreetly reading the time 👌🏻

I wasn’t aware of Hungarian master watchmaker Aaron Becsei’s early work and just discovered him through his recent rebranding. Carrying forward three generations of horological passion, he transformed a family tradition of restoration into absolute independent watchmaking excellence.

After learning his craft by helping out his father and grandfather in performing repair work and restoration in Budapest, he felt the need to set out on his own by learning CAD/CAM programming to start designing his own watches and clocks. From his groundbreaking Primus Triple-Axis Tourbillon to completely custom, bespoke timepieces, nearly every component is designed, machined, and hand-finished entirely by his own hands. A true artisan bringing haute horlogerie to life, one unique piece at a time.

This special Anniversary Series is a tribute to three generations of family craftsmanship and uses antique movements belonging to Aaron’s grandfather discovered in 2024. Titled BECSEI J.Z.A. it carries the family name BECSEI alongside the initials of the three men behind this legacy:

J — Joseph (Grandfather)
Z — Zsolt (Father)
A — Aaron

Really glad I made the trip to Bangkok for @bangkokwatchweek this year! More than the watches, it was the people that made this event great and I’m really happy to have caught up with so many people, and also to have met new ones during these few days. I forgot to take pictures with a lot of you but sound off in the comments below and I’ll make sure to snap a pic next time.

The @bvlgari Octo Finissimo Dual Time x @vianney_halter_official is a collaboration that, on paper, seems very surprising, and where one might ask how the two universe would merge.
