*For Immediate Release*

I am proud to lead such an amazing institution of learning and leadership. Silverton's students, staff, community partners and Capital Campaign Donors came together as thought partners, assessed the academic needs of each child and put in place an instructional program that is rigorous and life-changing.

As a result, Silverton Elementary has yet again increased academically on the Ohio State Report Card. We sit now, designated as a 4-Star School! Kudos and job well done. Let us all as a Silverton Community enjoy this current moment and space with intentionality and gratefulness. Go Eagles and continue to Soar. taken in Silverton Elementary School by @kevindurrell87

I've been under the weather the past few days, but Silverton Elementary continues to be a community of learning and leadership. Great work happens here in these walls, so our motto this year is simply 'Minor Modifications.' We are going to keep making things better!!!! The staff is ready and our student-leaders are eager to soar as eagles do! Thank you to all of our partners that came out to support and encourage the students on their first day. Here's to an amazing start to SY25/26!! 🦅 taken in Silverton Elementary School by @kevindurrell87

‘A Leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way’

Ayyyeeeee they got me today! I was speechless seeing my Evanston Family mixed with my Silverton family early this morning as normal arrival procedures had a bit of a ‘twist’ to it 😂! My goal is to always lead with grace! Thank you CPS and THANK YOU SILVERTON! taken in Silverton Elementary School by @kevindurrell87

I am extremely Proud of the Growth happening at Silverton! In just one year together, we’ve taken risks to improve our instructional rigor, focused on our Tier 1 core instruction, and made individual plans of success of all students! This, amongst other initiatives, speaks to the increase to 3.5 Stars on the Ohio State Report Card!

Academic Achievement: More students are meeting and exceeding grade-level expectations in core subjects such as math, reading and science, improving our performance index from 59% to 68%.

Progress: 4 stars - Our students are demonstrating growth in their learning, with many making significant gains since the previous year.

Gap Closing: We’ve made strides increasing to 4-stars, in closing achievement gaps between different student groups, ensuring equity and opportunities for all learners.

Chronic Absenteeism: We have decreased in this area, which is directly related to increased student achievement.

While there’s always room for growth in other areas, we pause to celebrate the work of our students, teachers, staff and partners for this moment in time! Eagle excellence is what we strive to attain, and the data supports this exact philosophy! I am proud to lead and serve this academic community we call Silverton 🫡 ! by @kevindurrell87
