I’ve been compiling songs for my new album that I’m going to start recording soon. It’s been a while since I posted an acoustic song. Today’s offering is a song I wrote with my favourite Toronto poet and longtime friend Terry O’Flaherty. Long Way From Home. by @kevinmkai

So this is the last single before the full album comes out.

This one was special because we got James Paul Mitchell from Nashville to play some sweet dreamy pedal steel. It turned out great!

The song was sort of a mantra for me when my anxiety would get a little overwhelming: “carry on my mind, carry on…”
I don’t usually talk to much about lyrics, but this one wasn’t about those silly movies!

Featuring Derek Downham on drums.
Mixed by Andy Magoffin and mastered by Kristian Montano!

The song is available everywhere now you know how to find it! Links in the bio.

The artwork is a piece I did watercolour and ink. I love the green and blue colour combination with the white texture.

Thank you James, Derek, Andy and Kristian! You guys are the best!

Shoegaze music is alive and well in Toronto. We’re less than a month away from our first Azure Rose show on October 3rd at the Monarch. We’re sharing the bill with some great bands. Visuals by General Chaos. by @kevinmkai

I finally found the time to put out my last single from my first solo endeavour. I had the pleasure of having the great Burke Carroll sprinkle some beautiful pedal steel layers. Produced by Derek Downham and mastered by Mariana C Hutten Czapski. Thank you so much for the continued support, streaming it, sharing it with friends and adding the song to your playlists. #shoegaze #dreampop by @kevinmkai
