Spent a day in Hamburg to go visit family I haven’t seen since my last Berlin trip and since they visit back in 2011. Got to see my aunt, cousin and nieces and my niece’s kids, so many generations in one picture. Jenny and Jennifer, you both have a beautiful family 🫶🏻 so glad @steponmeehs and I got to meet Martin 1 and Martin 2 and all your kids finally. by @kevintieu33

@berlinmarathon 2026 is in the books!!!!
.
First of all I can’t thank my other half in life @steponmeehs enough for being there to support me throughout the course, it’s not an easy task to do but she makes it look so easy! Her planning for where she meets is on point at every check point we discussed where she’ll be. I couldn’t have done it without her. So thank you a ton babe! I love you! 😘.

Shout out to @berlinbraves and their photographers @hopp.la for capturing all the moments from the weekend, had an amazing time chatting with people from all over the world at your event. I highly recommend checking them out if you ever are passing through Berlin.

Let’s talk about the journey to the finish, once again I didn’t have a solid training cycle, but I had solid training runs leading up to the big race. I didn’t have a long run completed longer than 10 miles this cycle due to some minor injuries that were building up, most importantly I listened to my body. This last month I had my best runs with friends at Monday night miles with @run_csrd, shout out to @jysn_snchz @naryyyyyy and @heajunnn for pushing me on those lake loops around SLU, this medal is shared with you 3. Listening to my body and its warning signs lead me to the start line healthy and ready for the unknown outcome.

The race itself was not bad at all! It went better than expected, did not rain like when I ran in 2019. Was at a consistent 10-10:30/mile pace for a good portion of the first half but then, the heat started to kick in so I decided to slow it down and once again listen to my body. @steponmeehs kept me in it by having my hydration bottle ready each time I saw her. She met me at miles 7, 13, 17, 21, and 24, and if you ever need someone to map out your train route along course, she got you covered!
.
.
Overall this race ended up being my fastest one in a few years dating back to Chicago 2024. Finished with a 5:25:35 (@strava official time 😅) and that’s good enough for me to be happy to be able to cross my 22nd marathon finish line.
.
Don’t know what marathon will be next but lots of rest is ahead for now.

@londonmarathon felt like a blur, but the energy they gave was ecstatic from start to end!!! There were times that I felt I couldn’t find my own spacing a lot of the time but the crowd showed up. Shout out to everyone cheering. You might’ve put @nycmarathon on notice for crowd energy. @chimarathon is still my favorite crowd though. Temps were high in the 60s felt like 70, not enough hydration, but thankful for the squeeze bottles of water and the shower sprays! Until next time London! Thanks for the normal marathon treatment this time around! (London 2021) .

And then I dropped down to a knee and asked @steponmeehs to marry me. She said “OUI” (yes 🇫🇷).
