A Splash of Fun in Every Brand 🤩
Igniting energy in wholesome businesses & helping women-owned brands feel as good as what they offer💖 2027 Waitlist↓
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
You don’t need to wait until your business feels big enough for branding.

Most people hold off because they think branding is something you do after you’ve made it.

But it’s actually what helps people see your value in the first place.

Your product might be amazing, but if your visuals feel random, one color here, a different font there, new customers can’t tell what to expect. It’s not your product that’s the problem. It’s that your branding isn’t showing how good it really is.

And that’s okay! it just means you’re growing.

Real brands grow in stages:

First, you find clarity: what’s working, what’s not, and who you’re speaking to.

Then, you build direction: visuals that help you look polished and intentional right now.

From there comes consistency: a full identity system that finally matches the quality of what you sell.

And eventually, expansion: packaging, signage, or a website that ties it all together across every touchpoint.

You don’t need to jump to the final stage.

You just need to start at the one you’re in.

So if you’ve been waiting for the “right time,” this might be your sign:

your brand doesn’t have to be perfect to be taken seriously, it just has to start becoming the brand you’re growing into.

You’ve got the vision. 👏🏼

You know your business has outgrown the DIY stage.

But when it comes to building a real brand…

🤔Where do you even begin?
🤨Do you start with the logo?
😬Do you pick your colors first?
😅What about fonts, packaging, and all the extras?

It’s like standing in the middle of a craft store with a list of supplies but no idea what you’re making.

And here’s the real issue: When there’s no strategy behind those decisions, things look and feel disconnected. 👀

👉🏼Your packaging looks good on its own, but clashes with your Instagram feed.
👉🏼Your logo fits on your business card, but it’s lost on a banner.
👉🏼Your pop-up display is cute, but it doesn’t reflect the quality of your product.

That’s why my process starts with ✨strategy✨
We look at where you’re going not just where you are right now.

We build a visual system that scales, whether it’s showing up on a storefront sign, a coffee cup, or your next wholesale shipment.

Because a brand that’s built to grow with you is more than just good-looking.
✔️It’s consistent.
✔️It’s recognizable.
✔️And it’s ready for whatever’s next.

Every brand comes into this process from a different moment.

👉🏼Some are growing faster than their visuals can keep up with.

👉🏼Some are proud of their product, but quietly feel like their branding still looks like an older version of them.

👉🏼Some are tired of piecing things together and just want something they can finally depend on.

But they all reach the same point...they’ve outgrown what they started with.

The DIY logo, the Canva tweaks, the “this will work for now” phase.
And even though the business is moving, the brand doesn’t feel like it’s carrying its weight.

It doesn’t reflect the care, the value, or the confidence they actually bring to their work.

That’s where these two projects began.

One brand needed space to slow down, uncover meaning, and build something thoughtful and full of heart.

The other came in ready to take up space: bold, rooted, and confident and needed visuals that could support that presence with intention and care.

Different starting points. Same outcome.

A brand that finally feels like them, one they can trust as they show up, market, launch, and grow into the next year.

If you’re heading into 2026 wanting a brand that reflects who you are now, not the version you’ve outgrown this kind of transformation is possible for you, too.

I’m so excited to meet the women I’m going to support in 2026 with my designs, are you one of them? Fill the inquire form linked in bio to find out! 💖 by @keyla.designs

I get why Pinterest is the first stop. When design isn’t your thing, looking for inspiration feels easier than staring at a blank page 🫠

But if you’re only saving what looks cute or what other brands are doing, you can end up with visuals you like, that don’t say much about you.

I like to start with your story. Why this business? Who inspired it? Who do you hope feels at home here?

Then we look for images connected to those answers, not just examples of other people’s branding.

A childhood photo might inspire a color palette. A handwritten recipe card might give us ideas for lettering. A memory of family gatherings might help us figure out how you want people to feel 🥰

We’re not copying the photo or putting every keepsake into your logo. We’re finding little details we can turn into something new.

That’s what “Made from memory, designed for what’s next” means to me. Starting with what you’ve lived, loved, and carried with you to create a brand that feels like yours, and gives your people something to connect with.

Pinterest can still be part of the process, but your story just gets to go first 😋

Folkicks exists so folklórico dancers can focus on dancing, not stressing about whether their shoes will show up.

Rafael started the brand after living that problem himself. As a dancer in college, finding reliable folklórico shoes in the U.S. wasn’t the best. Sizing was confusing, restocks were inconsistent, and ordering from Mexico often meant delays and returning or exchanging an item was nearly impossible. He built Folkicks to be a dependable bridge between Mexican artisans and dancers here.

The heart of it is pretty simple. Dancers work so hard for their performance, the last thing they should be worrying about is if their shoes will arrive on time, fit right, or even be wearable. Proper shoes with nails matter in folklórico because the sound you make with your feet is part of the dance.

What Folkicks was dreaming of was reaching more dancers across the U.S. Being the first thing that comes to mind when someone needs folklórico shoes. And feeling like one unified brand everywhere.

For a long time the branding had been handled project by project, just getting what they needed done. What they wanted now was a look that felt like Folkicks everywhere. Something that fits the lifestyle of folklórico dancers, so saying yes to the brand feels easy. Like it already belongs in their journey.

That’s what this visual identity was made for. A set of brand elements that can live on a shoe box, the website, and a pop-up, and still feel like the same story.

If you’re building something with that kind of heart and you’re ready for the brand to match it, the inquiry form is linked in my bio 💌 by @keyla.designs

Your logo alone isn’t going to make your brand feel ready for bigger opportunities.

Those rooms usually expect your pop-up booth, your packaging, and your website to look like they came from the same brand. That’s hard to get when you’re DIYing and making a new graphic for every space.

You might’ve kept your packaging simple to avoid the DIY look, but then it doesn’t really tell your story. Or you made a flyer you’re proud of, and had no clue how to turn that into a booth.
Having logo variations, illustrations, a color palette, and a font pairing means you can reuse the same pieces on a box, a booth, and the website. People start recognizing you because they’ve seen that look before.

When every graphic is its own separate project, things look mismatched. And it’s harder for people to remember you.

DIY branding is an excellent way to get started. It just can’t be the solution forever if you’re hoping to take your business to the level you know it can reach.

DIY branding might’ve gotten you this far, but the next phase you want your brand to enter needs more from it than you can keep doing on your own.

You want to grow. You want new opportunities. You want your brand to be recognized in rooms you haven’t fully stepped into yet.

And you can invest and bring people in. It’s just hard to loosen your grip when you built this yourself. That makes sense to me! you worked so hard to get here!

So you keep doing everything yourself. And that’s usually where things start to feel stuck.

You might want to be at more pop-up events, but you look around and feel like everyone else is already at a level you haven’t reached yet. So you feel overlooked.

You might want to show up at higher-end events, but your current branding doesn’t feel like it belong in those spaces.

You might be ready to open that brick and mortar store you’ve been dreaming of, but you don’t want to spend a lot of money on signage and packaging you aren’t proud of.

A visual identity you actually feel good about that looks professional everywhere you show up can give you the confidence to grow into those spaces.

That’s what this work was about for Folkicks. Rafael had already built something people trusted. He just needed the brand to support where he wanted to take it.

You don’t have to keep carrying all of this by yourself.

Some stories bloom long before we realize we’re living them 💜 when I was a young girl mi abuelito planted dahlia bulbs for me at my parents house, soon after that they became a constant in my life. Always chasing their blooms during their peak season and eventually they became part of my family forever. We named our first daughter Dahlia and our second daughter Amara after the dahlia variety- Miss Amara.

Porque Por Amara Dahlia?

Spoken aloud, “por amar a Dahlia” is for loving Dahlia but it also means the names of our daughters, Amara and Dahlia.

To me that means two meanings: a love for my children and a love worth passing on. My hope is that these toys become small seeds of culture and keep our stories blooming for generations to come. 💜 💜Mil gracias a @keyla.designs por capturar nuestro corazón tan perfectamente ✨ by @keyla.designs

Sometimes the most meaningful part of a brand doesn’t need to be forced into the main logo.

For @poramaradahliatoys the dahlia flower carries a lot of the story. It connects back to the name, Eva’s daughters, Mexican culture, and the feeling she wanted families to have when they saw the brand💜

But if we tried to fit every piece of that meaning into the wordmark, the logo could’ve easily started to feel crowded or hard to use.

So instead, the dahlia became its own supporting graphic.

That gave the brand another way to tell the story on packaging, patterns, social posts, stickers, tissue paper, or anywhere the full logo doesn’t need to do all the work.

And that’s something I think a lot of business owners forget: your logo doesn’t have to carry everything by itself.

A full brand identity gives you different pieces that can show up in different ways, so people can start recognizing the brand through the colors, icons, patterns, type, and little details they see over and over again.

That’s how a brand starts to feel more familiar, more memorable, and easier for people to connect with.

For almost anything someone wants to buy, there are probably 20 other brands they could choose from.

So naturally, customers start creating their own little framework for how they decide.

Sometimes it’s price, convenience, or quality. But sometimes, it’s emotions, and feelling like something was made just for them.

That’s where design comes in. Certain colors, styles, typography, and details bring up certain feelings for people.

For @poramaradahliatoys there are plenty of toys a parent could buy for their child. But Eva wanted this brand to bring up something deeper and specific: nostalgia, pride, joy, and the feeling of seeing Mexican culture show up in pretend play.

So for the creative direction the goal was to use the visuals to help parents feel connected to the story.

The pinks and purples, the dahlia inspiration, the nostalgic toy-brand references, the “mini versions of home” idea, all of those choices were there to help the right people feel seen.

And when someone feels seen by a brand, they want to make it part of their lifestyle, they want to share it with their family, and their friends.

Because they want other people to feel that same connection too.

Intentional and strategic design helps your brand become one of the choices people feel emotionally pulled toward.
