I’ve tried to find the words to express how I feel while witnessing the illegal and disgusting behavior from the folks who ‘run’ this country. There are no words. I’m gutted, heart broken and feel deep sadness to my core when I think about the destruction that is happening along the US/Mexico border. The people, the animals, the land and sky are at serious risk.

For my friends who do not live in this part of the country, please let these photos (and all the evidence that is being posted by others) show you exactly what it’s like down here, at the border. There is no crisis. There is no need for a wall, additional surveillance and definitely no need for fucking wires. Wires placed along the Rio Grande (and eventually any wall that’s built) will only be washed down the river with flash flood waters, resulting in people and animals being seriously injured.

The addition of any border surveillance will result in utter destruction of habitats, excessive bright lights, unnecessary technology in a place that people go to disconnect and we will lose access to the Rio Grande and so much more.

Please take any moment you can to share these photos with family and friends who may only be hearing false information… or none at all!

A cloudless day along the Rio Grande in December.

I think a lot about the time I’ve spent in the parks and along the border. Never did I think these parts of the state would be fighting a border wall. But now, it is very real and starting to happen right before our eyes.
