OHHHH CHANT

story time, I cooking up some beats in Johannesburg at @59studios_ camp with some one my artist friends, when @__1avatar1__ was in Romania cooking dinner after some beats, caught up about life and ideas, played him somethings and he played me some too. One beat he had really caught my heart and I started completing it, worked on it for two months, felt like something was missing. Then decided to take the 59 Studio camp to Limpopo. In Limpopo, we cooked up multiple work, partied, gig’d at Tarven after Tarven, between interviews and meeting a lot of other young creatives. I found myself having to do a recap with the camp artists on evolving sounds that aren’t typically what we hear, play or produce daily in South Africa.. OHHHH CHANT was sitting there just waiting for me to have a cross encounter with Portia. After a week of recording, I set with about 5 different versions of one track, as I traveled back to Cyprus and the rest of Europe, having worked BTS music video shoots with some cool people like @_kyria_04 @schmajila and NAT who is the creative director of this peace, I found myself not wanting to be stingy with some of the work and realise the OHHHH CHANT series. Enjoy this one… there’s more to come from this work and others…

17 July - OHHHH CHANT

“Life has been teaching me a lot of patience, before forced on me or needed but within time passing I sit on things which breakdown and build over and over again like when I was a kid disassembling every item my parents brought home. We will in a very interesting time and its crazy to think I am a location that’s the distance of Limpopo to Joburg and war is taking place in mzanzi. Jets fly by twice a week and that should be normal to me, yet a look over the most incredible sea as the skies thunder. I started OHHHH CHANT a year ago with @__1avatar1__ as I was sitting in my studio in my village in Limpopo and him in Romania, when he sent the beat of I knew I would find the right moving pieces to put this song together… The world is moving and to be able to move creatives all over the world to move to 3minutes of sound is something beyond this world, hopeful it can heal something in the hearts of the ones who give up, or chose to hurt….” - My thoughts as I continue to discover and become. by @kgole_
