@kgole_ , co-founder of Sounds From The South (SFTS), the Sub Saharan electronic collective bringing South African house music to Rome. Most people don’t notice it. that’s the whole reason the set works. The craft nobody sees. the crowd he used to think he controlled. the first set that started it all, in a kitchen. This is the part nobody posts. Headphones , laptop open, going through tracks late night trying to find the one that’s gonna move a room we haven’t even walked into yet. [02 FROM THE SOUTH] And then this happens… Once you see the flag be assured you are going on a trip

Today, we're celebrating IKHAYA ✨ A documentary that follows South African artist Giggs Kgole as he prepares for a milestone solo exhibition in Rome—while confronting the ghosts of his past and redefining what home truly means. From a village in Limpopo to the international art scene, IKHAYA traces Giggs' journey through memory, identity, ambition, and belonging. Through flashbacks, intimate interviews, and the creation of his exhibition, the film explores the architectural, cultural, and political meanings of home, revealing how art can help us make sense of where we come from and who we are becoming. Filmed across South Africa and Italy, IKHAYA is a story of determination, resilience, socioeconomic tensions, and the transformative power of creativity. We're incredibly proud of the film's journey so far—from winning awards at the Austin International Art Festival, Liberia Film Awards, and Power24 International Film Festival to being recognized and selected by festivals across Africa, Europe, and the United States. 🏆🎬 IKHAYA will soon be available to rent online, making it possible for even more people to experience this powerful journey. Stay tuned for updates. #IKHAYA #GiggsKgole #DocumentaryFilm #IndependentFilm #AfricanCinema #SouthAfricanArt #ContemporaryArt #ArtDocumentary #Home #Identity #CreativeJourney #FilmFestival #AwardWinningFilm #Storytelling #SoFareFilms

Answered., 15-20’ Collins Ugo [NG/CY] 16/05 | 20:00 Answered is a solo built on four rugs arranged in a 2×2 score: Time, Footwork, Distribution, and Repair. A fixed 8-count Afro footwork phrase is the unit of value. Each phrase begins with a clear accent (call) and must land exactly on a bell cue (answer) to count; I mark it with a live clicker. Time costs more (two cycles for one count), Distribution is compulsory but uncounted, and Repair turns mistakes into debt (three strict repeats). Abundance appears as what can be sustained through pressure.   Choreographer: Collins Ugo Soundtrack: Kgole Giggs Mentor: Panayiotis Tofi   I’m Collins Ugo, an Afro dancer, choreographer, performer, and teacher based in Nicosia, Cyprus. I work across Afro and West African traditional dance, blending traditional-derived footwork, contemporary Afro fusion, and street styles. My practice is grounded in musicality and precision, with a focus on fast, articulate footwork, stamina, and storytelling with humor. I teach regular classes and workshops in Nicosia at Cypher Dance Studio, Urban Oasis, NTOT, and Dance Central, and I create work that centers Afro dance as a rigorous, crafted practice.
