Greatful for this September.

I went to Leh and didn't want to come back.

This is what community does to you ...you explore places and meet new people,widen your horizons. Shoutout to @socialrunclub.in ,I got to know about the Ladakh marathon then we stayed at @malay.house had the most chill time and morning sessions followed by cold plunges. As promised I'm coming for a half marathon next year. 💪🏽🫶🏽

When I picked this book up from a small bookstore in Darjeeling I had no idea I'd end up finishing it in no time.One of the best books I've read this year. Sybil communicates through letters and we learn her life through all this correspondence over a decade of her life.
Every topic you can image has been touched upon here grief,mothers and daughters and the complexity of being a parent, relationships, friendships,ageing,work life balances and maybe the curse of living.
And the bonus with this book is the abundance of book recommendations you get.uffff too good !!
I did write a couple of letters after reading this ... will I send them though that is the question!

I have been a yoga practitioner for a while now, and BKS Iyengar is someone who has always fascinated me. He has made the practice accessible through props to many people. This book is insightful in the sense that you get a good and concise introduction to yoga without being overwhelmed and overinformed.

There are some books that'll affirm your feelings, this is that one for me. When life gets too much this one will get you. Read it to calm down.

I didn't want this book to end. The short stories are all unique, with a focus on different cat breeds and their distinct personalities and the people they end up with. The title 'We'll prescribe you a Cat' is fitting, and it reminded me of all the sassy cats I've had the honor of living with.

#januaryinjapan At this point most of the japanese cat books I've read are wholesome,sweet easy to read and pull you out of a reading slump and I also believe they come to your life when you need it the most. Read this to feel good and inspired.

Once you get into moving your body actively,it somehow comes to your attention that a good nights sleep is as equally important to maintain that movement. I remember seeing Mathew Walkers podcast on YouTube and was so intrigued I had to get his book.

It is insanely insightful and just makes you realise what a toxic world we've made for ourselves where constant hustling is like a badge of honor and lack of sleep is celebrated.
.
When in reality a good nights sleep is what your body is actually begging you for.
.
Maybe ask yourself today do you know what is rest and relaxation?
tbh I am still figuring it out!

Picture this:

You are on a flight and the pilot annouces decent and then boom it's gone thousands of kilometres in seconds decent ... there is a collective scream

and you here "sab sukh lahe tumhari sharna tum rakshak kaho ko darna"

That's when I realised bina book dekhe I know hanuman chalisa.

Being raised in a house where papa is going to Mandir according to days and Tuesday was Hanuman day, I didn't realise when I memoried the Hanuman chalisa ... but then it's so amazing flying mid air plane mein sab whites, blacks Indians and you can collectively say "tum rakshak kahu ko darna"

.

That's exactly what made me pick this book up to understand the meaning, do give it a read ... it's brilliant!!

I've been reading really slow this year. The only good thing is I am reading great books. I have had this book for a while but I was so apprehensive to read it because of the title. Already I am long distance with my cat didn't want a fictional heart break to top it up as well.

So, picture this you know you're going to die and the devil visits you and gives you a chance to not die but to erase somthing from the world and you live longer? That's the premise of this book. and to be honest it gave me the creeps in the beginning because I was dreading cats disappearing . But it turned out to be a sweet book at the end. Read it to keep yourself hopeful.

Fun Fact: Ginger and I didn't like each other the first time we met,we were in the same house and then got used to each other, now I miss her and she's hunting pigeons and living her best life and misses me ofcourse 🙃🥲.

Reading a Fredrick Backman book is a wholesome experience. My first Backman book was a man called Ove,and now to complete reading My friends makes me feel so proud of him because you see his growth as a writer. This man has the ability to introduce characters in his books and keep on adding them and you end up somehow remembering all of them. His characters in my friends are relatable,the friendship is funny you laugh one minute you cry the next,and that one painting that revolves around this story is the most beautiful painting I have ever seen.
