the Lord has really put this on my heart to share. I've gone back and forth on posting it, but i know there's someone out there who needs to hear this.

may is mental health awareness month, i just want to speak into the heart of anyone who feels like they’re silently struggling. sometimes we can struggle with mental health in ways we never thought we would. there can be seasons where the anxiety is so loud you can’t breathe. days when sadness settled so deep it felt like it would never lift. you can feel completely alone, even when you are surrounded by people. you can go through times where getting out of bed feels impossible, and hiding behind smiles just to make it through the day.

i know what it’s like to feel that way - i’ve been in that dark place. but through it all, Jesus never leaves our sides and He is with us in the darkness.

He didn't shame us for struggling. He didn't turn His face away. He sat with us in it. He carried us when we couldn't carry ourselves. and even though the healing hasn't been instant or easy, He's been present the whole way through.
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." - Psalm 34:18

i used to think that being a "good Christian" meant being okay all the time. but even Jesus wept. even He wrestled with sorrow in the garden. and if He made space for grief and pain, so can we. you can love Jesus and still struggle with depression. you can have faith and still feel anxious. you can ask for help and still be whole. i've needed therapy. i've needed community. i've needed prayer. i've needed grace. and i've needed to be reminded - again and again - that i am not a burden. and neither are you.

if you’re walking through something hard, please know this: you are not alone. your life matters. God is not disappointed in you. He is near. and He’s not waiting for you to have it all together — He meets you right in the middle of it. this past year, God reminded me that He is near. He’s brought people who’ve loved me & lifted me. you’re not alone. reach out. God is with you. you’re still here. that matters. 💌🫂🥹💐 taken in Mental Health Awareness by @ki.mberly_sheldon

~ this mission trip was a ton of fun. my favorite week of the summer by far. i will never forget the countless memories i made along the way & the kids that we inspired each day of VBS. God really worked through this trip & through my youth group. i’m so glad that i made so many new relationships and grew old ones as well. thank you to everyone who made this trip so extraordinary! can’t wait for next year! :) taken in Salida, Colorado by @ki.mberly_sheldon

hey! this isn’t like my normal posts but i felt called to share some things with you all. i’ve learned that social media is such a toxic place. i mean there are some good things about it but it’s just not that good. i used to come to social media & compare myself to other girls/people (which i still do at times) & it makes me sad because we shouldn’t be comparing ourselves to others because God made us perfectly in his image & when we compare ourselves to him it makes him upset because we are his children & it breaks his heart to see/hear his own child not loving themselves for who THEY are & who he created them to be!! i just want you all to know that: you are SO loved, you are SO precious, you are SO worthy of so many things!! don’t give up on yourself because of other people. keep going, because i promise things will get better. i’ve been struggling lately with some self image & mental health but i’m lucky to have such a good community of friends, family & an extraordinary Father up above to talk to! know that i’m always here to chat about whatever struggles you are facing or even just about life in general! if you want someone to listen i’m here, i understand that sometimes you just need to be heard. i hope that you have an amazing day/week/year & that you know that i love you, your friends love you, your family loves you, & most importantly God loves you. the creator who made you :) remember: YOU ARE LOVED, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL, YOU ARE ENOUGH, YOU ARE WORTHY OF SO MANY THINGS!! ❤️ GOD LOVES YOU! :)
