Montpellier, what a cool & tropical city! Explored the oldest botanical garden in France, had a delicious lunch, saw a painting that looked like my young maman, and ate the best pizza we’ve had in years. by @kickpleat

The coliseum in Arles which was great (esp when compared to Rome). Then off to Montpellier, a city filled with students and universities, and very little tourists. C has had a cold for 6 days and yesterday I got a sore throat despite my best efforts (masking & my trusty Betadine spray). Damn you tiny French hotel rooms & beds! by @kickpleat

Bye Lyon! What a great city! This morning we went to Parc tete d’or and it was beautiful. Free botanical gardens, zoo, etc. we only explored a tiny fraction of it and I can’t wait to go back. by @kickpleat

Morning market visit, a train ride to the tiny medieval town of Perouges, a walk through the countryside and back to Lyon for dinner and a stroll along the Saône. I love how in Paris and Lyon the canal and riversides are packed with people all evening - hanging out, drinking wine, playing music. It really helps to make a city feel alive. by @kickpleat
