🥂 Every great community starts with a connection!

For this behind-the-scenes conversation, I connected with the creative minds behind @introvertedballoonsllc and Lemoi Desina, founder of The Nexus Meetup and photographer behind @astp_photography , to talk about the vision behind an experience designed to bring people together in a meaningful way.

The Nexus Meetup isn’t just about showing up, exchanging business cards, and going home. It’s about creating space for entrepreneurs, creatives, and community members to connect, collaborate, support one another, and build relationships that extend beyond the room.

And we’re bringing that vision to life on October 25, 2026, from 2–6 PM at The Wright Village for Le Noir Masquerade Event! 🎭

Expect an elevated networking experience celebrating Black culture, creativity, and community, complete with live performances, vendors, catered food, photo opportunities, and more.

🎟️ Tickets are $35 through EventNoire.

The goal is bigger than one event. We’re building a community where connections matter and opportunities grow.

Come masked. Leave connected. Let’s build something together! 🖤

919 Day + The Busy Influencer Collective?! Yeah, this one was special! Getting to bring local creators together to celebrate @kickymatsrdu official 919 Day proclamation is exactly why I started building TBI Collective in the first place.

Good people. Dope brands. An abundance of creative energy. And a whole lot of love for the city we call home! taken in Durham, North Carolina by @kickymatsrdu

We went UP for 919 Day!!! This is my petition to make the 19th of every month BLACK AF!!!!!

Shoutout to @thebusybre @kickymatsrdu @bitesandblissgrazebar and @thesituation_bar_lounge for collaborating to host an amazingly fun, and unapologetically black day of events! The execution was amazing!

September 19 = 919 Day ❤️

Shoutout to @kickymatsrdu for bringing us together to celebrate the official proclamation of 919 Day. I had such an amazing time connecting with other local creators and also enjoying the Kicky Mats experience. The entire experience was one that made me want to attend another Kicky Mats event ASAP.

If you’re in the RDU area make sure you stop by @thesituation_bar_lounge in Durham for your libations and book @bitesandblissgrazebar for your next function. Make sure you book @kickymatsrdu or attend one of their events.

Happy 919 Day y’all. 🫶🏾

Yall, I had me a TIME celebrating 919 Day with @kickymatsrdu and my girl @thebusybre! 🎉

As a Raleigh native, the 919 holds a special place in my heart, so getting to celebrate the place I call home while making custom doormats was such a fun way to spend the day.

I went with the “Probably Making Content” stencil (because that’s literally my life 😂), and every mat came out so cute - you could really tell everyone put their own spin on it!

Kicky Mats always brings the vibes, so follow @kickymatsrdu to catch their next event!
