I’ve been so many people. Sometimes I miss old versions of myself, maybe it was the freedom of expression I miss, maybe the courage. But I am grateful for who I am now. I worry about losing whimsy & creativity but then I remember that it’s all still within me and being discovered in new ways. It’s okay to change, one day I might look back at where I am now and miss this version of me too. I grow so rapidly that I feel like I miss myself. I’m learning to stay present in who I am at each stage without feeling pressure to change again. It’s strange having a body but it’s also fun when we relieve ourselves of physical expectation. Life is meant to be played.

When you feel disconnected or overwhelmed, return to your true home. Mother Earth will cradle you, teach you, support the ground beneath you, recharge your cells. Ironically receiving my orange belt in Krav Maga and certification for Emergency First Aid Response in the same month 😅🙏🏼🌟. Everything I do, from my studies in Psychology to self-defense to EFAR, is for the purpose of being able to help those around me in any way I can. I feel incredibly blessed as I move forward through my training in each field with humility, determination and discipline. 🙏🏼♥️

A special thank you to @unitedkravmaga for creating this space for us to empower ourselves and each other. My favourite memory this year has been assisting in the womens self-defense class held in February. I can’t wait to continue to learn and teach 🤲🏼. by @kidredsky

Carl Jung spoke about the Anima and the Animus (femininity & masculinity, plainly). He emphasised how important it is for each individual, regardless of their gender to embody a balance of masculinity and femininity and that we have been conditioned to only express the one as it relates to our gender. The ultimate goal in Jung’s theory was to integrate the anima and animus into conscious guides which would lead to wholeness. This integration doesn’t look the same for every person. For some the integration is visible, such as in my images. But for the most part, this integration is an evolution that balances the intrinsic power we hold within when we allow ourselves to fearlessly & without judgment become whole. There are many paths to wholeness and many definitions of what it may look or feel like. But I hope that you allow yourself the experience of a whole you, however it may manifest.
