I love Destiny Pointe Church for a lot of reasons. One of the big ones is their love for each other. This isn’t just a “nice to me at church but then quiet, ignore you in public” congregation. We are a loving supportive family.

In Columbia, it’s not uncommon to rarely see anyone you know at the grocery store, a restaurant or wherever.

When I see a fellow DPCer, it doesn’t matter how well we know each other, I start waving like Forrest Gump and go talk to them and see how their week is going. I’m adding all yall on Facebook, following on IG.

But here’s the thing, it’s not just about us and our house of worship. If I know you’re a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, it doesn’t matter what you did, your background, or where/if you congregate, we are family!

My defenses come down when I’m around you. I know you’re safe. A fellow servant. Someone who admits they need the Savior. Someone who has humbled themself at the foot of the cross. Someone who is walking the same direction I am, back home to the Father of all creation, Yahweh.

We have the joy! We have the answer! It’s nothing we came up with, earned or deserved, but it’s a gift that was freely given and we received.

So whether it was Memphis MO, IHCC, Truman, Texas, Mizzou and you serve the living God who has no tomb, Christ is glorified by our love for one another! Let it shine brothers and sisters. ✝️🕊️ by @kielfogle

It was a truly unforgettable trip that can never be duplicated. I’d never been and always wanted to go. After last year, we are purposely doing a lot more living, and God is giving us double for our trouble. I can’t thank my friends enough for being our seasoned guides. I had some of the best food and experiences of my life. People were so incredibly kind. There is no where like it in the world. Larry had all the lightning lanes and multi passes lined up. Jess had the clutch food places dialed in for us. Brooklynne was the most beautiful, sweet princess every single day. I couldn’t ask for a better wife or a better life. Thank You, Jesus, for the cross, for healing, for joy, for freedom, for everything.

In February 2025, I was diagnosed with metastatic mediastinal seminoma after noticing an armpit lymph node that was swollen and not going away. Brooklynne researched day and night every natural and traditional therapy available. For months, God strengthened my body’s natural immune system to prepare for battle using integrative and eastern medicine.

Over the summer and fall, the primary mass grew to a 13 cm conglomerate of cancerous lymph nodes sitting in the direct center of my chest against my heart and lungs. Both my arm pits had baseball sized nodes. My neck and collar bone nodes also were swollen with cancer cells.

Liters of fluid filled up the space around my heart and lungs making it feel like I was suffocating without a way to catch my breath until the fluid was drained. This process was repeated until eventually tubes were sewn into each side of my ribs which drained into big reservoirs that I had to pack around. These both became infected, and I was hospitalized both for the infection and the liter of fluid around my heart which caused severe pericarditis and cardiac tamponade activity.

They cut a hole in the sac around my heart and placed a permanent window to prevent future fluid buildup. Once all of that was being managed, then started the 9 weeks of chemo cycles from Halloween through Christmas. Bone marrow suppression, continued weight loss, lab imbalances, hair loss, gut all messed up, all the usual stuff with cancer and chemo.

I never wavered in my faith in Jesus Christ. I worshiped louder. I prayed longer. The band let me keep playing guitar even when I couldn’t stand. I always knew God would heal me.

My wife and best friend Brooklynne never left my side. My best friends helped us over and over and over again. My church family prayed every day. My family was always there for support. My workplace blessed me and never made me feel less-than.

I have a wonderful life. I never thought I’d have the title of #cancer survivor, but I’m SO BLESSED to have it. God has miraculously saved me from my sin AND cancer. I can’t wait to see what He is going to do next 👶🏻!

This weekend I decided on a whim overnight to run a 5k the next morning! Had I trained at all? Nope. Was I barely able to stand, let alone jump, jog, or run 10 months ago? Yep. Finished chemo just 8 months ago? Si. It was mostly out of pride. My goal was to finish, and I did without stopping!

I ran like a 26 minute, coming in shortly after a Mennonite woman in a dress and bonnet. Followed shortly by another pushing a stroller.

I did really enjoy it. I had my AirPods playing instrumental worship. I feel like my legs have been squashed in a vice lol… but I’m 40, healed, and blessed beyond measure!
