It has been a week since we lost our mom @maryharaha and it’s still surreal.

Please let me tell you about this girl from Iowa who after high school went to check out the world by going to Washington D.C. While in D.C., she met this guy from Indonesia and after a few years of dating they got married. He brought her to the motherland and she had quite an adventure for the next 54 years.

They had 3 children, moved around between Bandung, Bangkok, and Jakarta. Dad traveled a lot, which left her in charge of us with our many activities and shenanigans. She had elegance, the patience of a saint, and always thought of others first. She never got into name brands, she wore clothes for years to come, she loved her silver bracelets (all the way up her arms) and rings, she had her own style.

She loved art, reading, a wrote a lot, had a few books published and helped a lot of friends and family translate. Anywhere she went, she would be part of a discussion or a book group. She became grammy and helped care for her grandkids when they were born, they are her pride and joy.

These last few years she has been dealing with COPD and all the limitations that comes with it, she peacefully left us last week. She was a beautiful soul inside and out. Thankfully my brothers and I were able to be by her side when she left us.

I pray that she has reunited with dad and she is playing with all her puppies that left before her.

Rest is love and peace mommy, I can only wish I am half the great woman that you are, going on a lifelong adventure half way around the world, adjusting to the culture and ways with so much grace. I am so proud to be your daughter and love you to the moon and back millions times over. by @kihborhap

In the Heights has a special place in my heart! I identify so much with it, even though it’s not my heritage, I feel it to the bones!!!! I saw this musical in 2016 @porchlightmt when I met @michellelauto and became a FAN…. In 2024 it was coming back and I had to see it again, took the whole family to @marriotttheatre. It was quite a journey from the southside of Chicago, but I had to see @michellelauto!!! But wait…. The WHOLE cast was precious…. They moved me, made me dance in my seat, and friggin made me cry!!!!! I was mouthing the lyrics and I truly felt that I was a part of them in the barrio…. I have fallen in love again…. Thank you @michellelauto @wesjbarnes @ki.rodriguez @addie_amber @lilliancastillostrong @yasirious @p_vhernandez y’all are superstars and I look forward supporting and following each of your journeys….

Thank you @kenesandari for posting about @dailah.bdg … Kebetulan dapat kesempatan untuk ngajak teman orangtua yang belun pernah nyobain. It was a wonderful experience!! The service was excellent secara di nyokap pakai kursi roda tapi abang satpam sigap membantu… ternyata pas keluar dikasih tau ma supir klo mobil kita dikasih cover supaya ngga kepanasan…
Kita disamperin oleh sang manajer on duty yang banyak menjelaskan tetang menunya, konsep restorannya, dan juga sejarahnya…. Sayangnya saking lapernya cuman inget foto satu dari berbagai sajian yang kami coba… please check them out klo kbetulan ke Bandung… ngga bakal nyesel dah! So thankful that we found the #imazakidojo community… can’t believe it’s been about 7 years since we signed up our first born for his karate class and he found his passion, it’s now a family affair!!! We’ve competed together, held each other accountable, covered for each other, supported one another, laughed, worried, cared, organized, traveled, and have fun together!!!! This picture only shows a glimpse of our community but let me tell you it’s none other!!!!

@gambarnya_aksan main ke Washington D.C. jenguk gedung putih sama monumen nasional… mataharinya terik banget … my cousin’s son had his drawing of a train put on t-shirts to raise money for cancer awareness and we wore it on our trip to D.C. visiting the white house and national monument…. Kudos to Aksan for his awesome drawing and supportive parents!!!! Klo mau juga, pesen ya… @abujun @lilaimeldasari by @kihborhap
