Imazaki Dojo Beach Training 2026 🌊🥋

Every year we come back to 31st
beach. We train, we sweat, we laugh, we push each other—and somehow, without always realizing it, we grow.

Looking around this year, I couldn’t help but think about how far we have all come. Not just in our karate, but in life.

Students who were once beginners are becoming leaders. Friendships have grown stronger. Families have grown. And the moments that once felt ordinary have become some of the memories we treasure most.

There’s a line in the song I chose for this reel that says:

“Someday soon your whole life is gonna change, you’ll miss the magic of the good old days.”

That one hits differently.

Because these are the good old days.

The early mornings. The sand in our uniforms. The exhaustion. The laughter. Standing together by the water. Watching our dojo family grow year after year.

One day we’ll look back at these moments and wish we could live them one more time.

So enjoy it. Be present. Train hard. Laugh loudly. Take the pictures. Make the memories.

Feeling grateful. Grateful for another year around the sun. Grateful for light after the dark. Grateful for friends and a community that feels like I have family all around the world. This week, I had a rough couple of days. Mentally worn down and letting every stressor/trigger/bump in the road that has happened over the last few months affect me all at once. Global issues, national traumas, personal setbacks. (For example… As a mom, I feel so much guilt when I lose my s*!# in front of my kids. As a mom artist, even more guilt when I am not in a capacity to film an audition or self tape due to aforementioned guilt) People always refer to me as strong and resilient and I usually am, so when I allow myself to feel vulnerable, sadness and depression roll over me like a huge wave that is difficult to swim out of. Instead of keeping it all in like I usually do, I reached out. And my friends and family showed up and helped me heal. Thank you to everyone who has sent me words of love and affirmation, birthday wishes, kind thoughtful gestures, healing energy from all over the earth. Thank you to everyone who came to my humble meet and greet @sundae_stop today (and don’t worry if you missed it because I will be back this summer!) Grateful, grateful, grateful. Love and light. Xo.
