Did someone say K25?! by @kiisi.ad

The journey to 25 was necessary.

Everything that could possibly happen, happened. And in the happening was a reminder, an awakening to the truth that God alone is the steady foundation worth building my life upon.

On the days I was perplexed, He was my joy. During the seasons of pressing, He kept this soul together and brought forth new wine.

My Father, my Friend. The One who knows the intricacies of my heart and gives it just what it needs, when it needs it. You take good care of me, better care than I could ever ask for. You are the best reason, the only worthy ‘because.’ The light of my life and my portion, now and forevermore.

‘Thank You’ sounds simple, but You delight in simple things. Thank You for 25 years of Your lovingkindness.

It’s 2025, and some people still don’t know I write.

Well, I do. I write fiction and nonfiction. I write about my faith, too.

One of my most recent pieces is “alenumajeun,” a reflection on my relationship with my body and food. It’s one of the most honest things l’ve ever published, so much so that I almost kept it tucked away and unseen.

But then I remembered that God gave me this voice and this gift of storytelling for a reason. My stories matter, especially the ones I tell about myself. by @kiisi.ad
