HYROX DC - a treasure of a journey ☀️

Despite being a former college athlete, I had never been able to string together more than 6 weeks of consistency in working out since graduating in 2017. I spent the past decade making every excuses for why I couldn’t prioritize training. On Easter Sunday I watched my first Hyrox live when I went to support my friend @lisa.zelenak. A small seed of hope got planted that maybe I could train for one of these. A week later on April 13th, I ran a mile for the first time in 6+ years. My time - 9:56. That week tickets for Hyrox DC went on sale. I bought a ticket in faith that by Sept 4th I would be ready to race. When I got in the tunnel at Hyrox DC five months later and saw my family and friends waving and cheering I realized something… I’d already won. It was never about the time that showed up on the clock when I finished. It wasn’t even about the race itself. It was about falling in love with the process again. Learning to commit to the process, not perfection. The race was just the fruit of the process. So while I’m proud of the time, I’m more proud of the work behind the time and every lesson I learned along the way. Embrace the No Days Off lifestyle 💪🏼
