Ceramic basket with willow handle ~ my latest design and one that I’d had in the back of my mind for a long time. It’s been nice to revisit combining other materials with ceramics and play with willow again.

Just driven by the wonderful @massonmills1783 and caught sight of the road sign thats now in situ at the mill!

Gitte is a Danish potter based in Brighton. She creates functional ceramics that blend Scandinavian minimalism with organic textures and natural forms.
Her current collection ranges from elegant hanging planters to unique, wheel-thrown tableware, each piece thoughtfully created to be practical in everyday life, yet be tactile and that little bit of special.

Pots Passion - I have been making ceramics for many years and the source of my inspiration is eclectic and far reaching. From Architecture and engineering to the natural world and it’s
multiplicity of forms and finishes. In my travels I soak up visual information like a sponge and I think different cultural influences can be seen in my work.
At the moment I am trying out modelling cats and dogs, as I also take care of people’s
pets, there’s lots of live inspiration to be had!
I use a variety of techniques in my work, slab building, pinching and coiling, impressing
found objects to create interesting textures, and using moulds to create larger assembled pieces like my ‘moon’ lights.

I’m experimenting with low fired (earthenware) glazes and raw clay with oxide finishes to reduce firing times with an eye to my carbon footprint.
I enjoy creating ‘One Off’ items that have a practical as well as an ornamental application, like planters, bowls and lamps. I love it when people buy my work for the reason of its uniqueness and the fact that it ‘spoke’ to them, that’s a good feeling!

Claire Evers - I lovingly make homeware and accessories from sticky lumps of clay. Each piece is one of a kind, made in my Staffordshire studio and inspired by the animal kingdom.
I enjoy making both functional and more decorative pieces, using a combination of traditional hand building and slip casting techniques.
The glaze designs I apply use skills from my time working as an illustrator. Studies of animal forms are translated to the ceramic medium, incorporating patterns and colour from different cultures. My aim is to create playful, joyful objects.

Introducing: Small Fish Pottery

My work is eclectic and as such I’m happy not to be categorised. My delight is in the spontaneous and in discovering new techniques rather than repeating old ones. My pots reflect this, being instinctive rather than highly finished. I rarely stick to one theme because there’s so much inspiration out there. The only rule is that a pot should hold water (or a bunch of daffs).
I find I’m using clay mainly to create a narrative about what’s around me.
I’m delighted when someone recognises the source of inspiration in one of my pieces.

Introducing: Anne James

I create both functional and decorative pieces, plus seasonal hanging decorations. Vases and flower bricks form a large part of my work due to my passion for gardening.
My ceramics are created in my home studio in rural Northumberland, surrounded by my beautiful garden and views over the adjoining fields. My work is influenced by the natural world around me, and also reflects a childhood growing up in rural Perthshire, and family holidays to the West Coast of Scotland.

Introducing - Ben Atkins

I am primarily a thrower, and I work in both earthenware and stoneware clays. My work
is influenced by both eastern and western sensibilities. I am influenced by eastern forms
from Japan and Korea, Moon jars, guinomis, tea bowls etc but I also love industrial British Ceramics. In short, my work is a culmination of British materials with a nod to industry mixed with Japanese and Korean decorative influences.
