The award for most unique interview location goes to… Mark Mothersbaugh (@markmothersbaugh), who suggested the bathroom stall in his art gallery (@mutmuzgallery)! It was honestly perfect, except for the bathroom traffic during the interview! 😂

This chat was completely unplanned, but I really wanted to hear about Postcards For Democracy, and Mark told me all about it. He even shared where his love of postcards began. Part 2 is next week where he tells us what brings him the most joy... beautiful and deeply personal!

In case you don’t know Mark, he’s co-founder of DEVO, a musician, composer, visual artist and so much more! Devo challenged rock music and American culture with its unique sound and “de-evolution” philosophy. Have you seen their documentary? IT IS A MUST!

Apparently, not even a bathroom interview can cramp his style! What a kind and lovely human.

Biggest thanks to Mark, Beattie and Anita, Ed Marshall for inviting us to the party and the encouragement, and my Greg for knowing Ed!

Please send a postcard:

Margaret O’Brien was three when she began working in Hollywood, by six she was MGM’s biggest young star of the Golden Age. Her performance as Tootie in Meet Me in St. Louis even earned her a special Academy Juvenile Award.

She worked with some of the biggest stars including Judy Garland, Elizabeth Taylor, Mickey Rooney, Janet Leigh, Edward G. Robinson and Charles Laughton. She starred so many films, including The Secret Garden, Little Women, Jane Eyre, Our Vines Have Tender Grapes and The Canterville Ghost.

Today, she continues working in TV and film and even performs on radio programs including live recreations of classic radio dramas, just like she did as a young girl.

She continues to share her fascinating memories of Hollywood’s Golden Age—and boy does she have some good ones! I did another interview with her a year ago on Tell Me Tell Me, so scroll down to learn more about her life in Hollywood. Please share and show her some Old Hollywood Love, she deserves it!

Anson Williams (@realansonwilliams) is probably best known as Potsie on Happy Days, but there is so much more to his story...

Anson was part of one of TV’s most iconic casts, alongside Ron Howard, Henry Winkler, Donnie Most and the rest of the Happy Days family. But, as Anson explains, he was also learning the business behind the camera thanks to some great advice from Garry Marshall. He learned from the best and became a well-respected director, working on Beverly Hills, 90210, Melrose Place, Baywatch, Star Trek, and so many more.

His latest passion project is an off-Broadway play called “Crazy Mama” written by his wife Sharon Scott Williams. The play deals with mental illness in a humorous way and opens an important conversation for all of us. Crazy Mama opens September 16th at the @59e59 in NYC starring @lindapurl.

Anson has built a fascinating life far beyond the character that made him famous. When I was 12, I begged my Dad to take me to see Happy Days filmed in Hollywood, he did. I have such wonderful memories of that day... My 12-year-old Happy Days loving heart is so happy to see him doing so well.

Special thanks to Harlan Boll @bhbpublicrelations for arranging the interview and to @stillherehwood and @stevekmetko for letting me use their set! Check out @stillherehwood for more celeb interviews. taken in Los Angeles, California by @kimberlybiehl

It’s my first year at the Cinecon Film Festival, what an amazing event!

You can buy a ticket for the entire event or each day individually and they show films that are rare and so special! Many of which are 100+ years old and haven’t been seen in decades! They often get stars from the shows to come and do Q&A‘s and sign books and take photos after.

There are two days left in this event. If you are a film lover, this is for you! It takes place in West Los Angeles at the NuArt theater. You can check the Cinecon page for information! See you there!

David Godlis (@godlis ) is a photographer who captured New York’s gritty punk scene from the inside. His photos of CBGB in the late 70s documented artists like The Ramones, Patti Smith, Blondie, Talking Heads, and Television before they became icons. His epic book History Is Made at Night is one of the most visual records of the era, and I loved hearing all about it.

Beyond punk, David spent decades documenting street life and independent filmmaking. Check out his fantastic books, Godlis Miami and Godlis Streets, which are packed with incredible shots. His photographs have appeared in museums, galleries, books, and publications around the world. He captured such unique moments that would’ve been lost.

This week the new @crampsofficialvengencerecords album is out, he shot the back cover!

One of my absolute favorite New York conversations, overlooking the city… doesn’t get much better!
