While my heart was in two places this weekend I was able to go participate in one of my favorite school trips of the year. Freshman retreat isn’t just about keeping the kids safe , taking care of minor first aid issues , or making sure they don’t break any bones it’s about spending quality time with the kiddos. It’s about pouring into the freshman, juniors , and seniors. It’s about reminding them they aren’t alone. It’s listening and trying to help guide them on their next steps. It’s about showing them the love of Jesus. And yes they even push me. They remind me that nursing goes beyond the 4 walls of a hospital. So thank you to all the faculty and staff that allow me to have this opportunity and to all the parents that trust me to do what I love the most. taken in Camp Mac by @kimdawn86

Pic 📸 @theresajohns 2 years today. I thought this deserved a permanent spot on my feed. Looking back I’m still in awe. Behind the smiles. Behind the laughs. There was truly a broken girl who didn’t know if healing would ever take place. I had learned to live with the pain and move on. But that was until it became too much. I went to camp meeting just to see friends. Then an invitation was given. I was like why not. I had idea what was going to take place. I came. And then I came. And then slowly then walls came down. Slowly healing began to take place. Slowly my life began to be put back together. So here’s to two years of restoration. This is 40. Looking back over the last week I’m beyond grateful and thankful for the village and community that I’ve surrounded myself with. A year ago I signed a lease. Decided to pack up my life and relocate. It was and still has been one of the hardest moves I’ve made. But it’s truly been the best. My 30s were probably one of the hardest decades of my life. But I made it out and I’m stronger than ever. So many people dread getting older but I’m truly excited about this next decade. 23 months …… I haven’t done one of these posts in awhile. But this morning in the middle of a chaotic time I was overcome with gratitude. And as I stood in the med room mixing up another round of antibiotics I began to silently thank God for where he has brought me from. See a year ago I couldn’t have seen myself professionally being where I am today and even spiritually. I was in the trenches of a truly rough and refining season. Now has that season stopped nope. But looking back I’m truly not the same person I was 23 months ago and even 3 months ago. So even in the middle of uncertainty and questions that are still being answered I choose to celebrate. I choose to be thankful. I choose to step out and believe that he is truly working things out on my behalf. So here’s to celebrating and continuing to move forward. Continuing to grow. May came and then she went. She was filled with many long nights at the hospital being pushed and prodded. Many lessons but a lot of silent victories. February 2026 ✨This month felt like it would never end. But the word that won’t leave and I’m learning to love is PERSPECTIVE. I’ve chosen over the last year to do these photo dumps to reflect on the good of each month and to watch how God continues to orchestrate this season. So here’s celebrating these beautiful moments that have brought me so much joy ✨✨ 1. Youth revival and dinner with my Kat. 2. Sundays with my buddy who truly brings me joy. 3. Group chat with my girls I met in nursing school. They inspire and keep me going. 4. Mize house. Enough said. 5. Reunited with my Brooks kids. 6/7. Meeting mills. Hanging with Ward and hugs from Ginny. 8. Loving on my newest niece. She is truly a miracle. 9. Hugging my GIRL who is engaged. Excited about this new season for her. 10. Dinner with my girl Carolina. 11/12. Being able to watch my girls play BBALL and hug their necks. 13. Ayc friendships are top tier. Love my girl. 14. Monica.
