Can you mimic Ozempic naturally?

Nutritionist @kimmypearson breaks down the simple diet and lifestyle habits that can support appetite control, blood sugar regulation and satiety.

And it’s not about eating less and having more willpower.

We sat down with Kim to talk menopause-related weight gain, ultra-processed foods engineered for overconsumption, and food noise.

A major new @the_bmj_ study just called into question whether weight loss drugs improve quality of life. (https://doi.org/10.1136/bmj-2026-372161)

Researchers reviewed 262 trials involving almost 100,000 people, comparing 19 different weight loss medications. They concluded that: “Most agents do not improve quality of life meaningfully and few show cardiovascular benefits.”

They also found that the more weight people lost, the higher the risk of side effects and likelihood of stopping treatment altogether.

Another BMJ study from earlier this year found that weight rebounds quickly after stopping medication, and improvements in health markers reverse just as fast. (https://doi.org/10.1136/bmj-2025-085304).

This is not to say these drugs have no place ever. But weight loss should never be the only measure of success. The goal is better long term health and quality of life, not just a lower number on the scale.

My latest article for @futurepatient_ magazine explores metabolic health and the root cause of poor metabolic health (diet) that so often gets ignored.

These five metabolic health markers are helpful for every adult to know, especially those of us who are over 40. If you want to take a proactive approach to optimising your health, I recommend assessing them at least once a year, more often if you’re actively working to improve them. They’re accessible and can tell you a lot about your current health and future risk.

That said, they are just the starting point.

In clinic we often go further. Depending on the individual, we may also assess markers such as fasting insulin, lipoprotein(a), ApoB, hs CRP, liver function, uric acid and other biomarkers to build a more complete picture of metabolic and cardiovascular health.

The tests we decide to run are based on your personal and family history, symptoms and objectives, but understanding these five markers is a good place to start.

Thank you @vickyeldridgecopywriting and @the_bxdy for asking me to be on the editorial board of Future Patient Magazine. Preventative health is something I’ve been passionate about for many years, and is a big part of my clinical practice. I’m grateful for the opportunity to help share what I’ve learned with other healthcare professionals. by @kimmypearson

It was such a pleasure to join @lizearleme on her podcast earlier this month to discuss all things weight loss. And, of course, my new book 😉

Liz is someone who truly understands the challenges women face in mid life. She has been in the wellbeing industry for a long time and is so knowledgable and passionate.

Thank you Liz for having me on your show, and for doing what you do to educate and empower women 💪🏼

Here are a few highlights from the show. You can listen to the full episode wherever you get your podcasts ☺️ by @kimmypearson

Four days of back to back health events.

@ipmcongress followed by @healf’s HX26.

A LOT of samples (@thenaturaldispensary’a goody bag was a highlight).

Here are some old favourites and new things I’m trying out…

@betteryou_ltd spray supplements. Old fave. Their vitamin D is now available on the NHS! I have been saying for years that it should be 🙌🏼 A fantastic company, the most passionate owner, and they’re investing a lot in research.

@attitude_living sunscreen. New find. A natural mineral sunscreen that is easy to apply and doesn’t make you look like a ghost? I’m in ☀️

@cosmicdealer chocolate 🍫 Old fave. Delicious, low sugar, unique flavours, individually wrapped which helps portion control! Beautiful packaging - makes a lovely gift for chocolate lovers.

@barebiology omega 3. My go-to omega 3 supplement. Most of us would benefit from supplementing omegas. High strength and quality. I take it myself daily and recommend to friends, family and clients 💊

@drinkh2tab molecular hydrogen. New find. Acts as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, helping reduce oxidative stress and tissue damage. Makes your water look a bit grimy, but amazingly, it completely alleviated my friend’s swollen ankles (she had tried EVERYTHING), so it must be doing something right.

@gutologyuk toothpaste 🪥 New find. I’d heard about this brand before but I’d not tried it. Clean ingredients. No fluoride. Tastes great. And it’s my friend’s brother’s company! Will be buying again.

@formnutrition protein powder. Old fave. Clean ingredients. Complete amino acid profile with 30g protein and 5g BCAAs per serving. Nice flavours and the single serving sachets are handy when travelling.

@wearefudi foods. Old fave. Great food products. Healthier condiments (hot sauce, tomato sauce, mayo, brown sauce), low carb whole food crackers, breads and granola 🥣

@skindiligent vitamin C serum. New find. I want natural skincare but I also want it to work! Looking forward to trying this.

@haskapa berry powder. Old fave. Big fan. High in antioxidants - 4x the anthocyanins of blueberries. Easy to mix into yoghurt or blend into a smoothie.

Are you a fan of any of these? What did I miss? taken in London, United Kingdom by @kimmypearson

And yes, you will lose weight 😉

I’ve been working with @prolon since it first launched in the U.K. I monitored the very first press case studies, supporting journalists reviewing it for The Times, The Telegraph, The Mail… basically everywhere! Everyone was excited for ProLon!

I also had the privilege of meeting @prof_valterlongo and spending time with his brilliant team at @uscedu who are carrying our fascinating work into the health benefits of fasting, and fasting mimicking diets.

I am genuinely looking forward to doing this for the next five days!
