I was journaling some of the lessons I’ve learned about relationships and it was all so good, I felt like I needed to share! I know this is a little long but I hope it comes across the feed of the person who needs to hear it. I think what I’m learning is letting my experiences be life lessons, instead of a life sentence and if it hurts my heart, but teaches me a lesson, it’s a win in my book!

It’s funny because when I made this last night, I had very minimal makeup on. I didn’t want the world to see me like that. But then as I was preparing to go to bed, I felt God tug me to create something. I wasn’t sure what, but I listened and obeyed. Soon the inspiration for this video came, and I knew it was what I was meant to share with the world. I might feel like I don’t look my best in this video (the whole point of the video, isn’t it?) but in God’s eyes, I’m remarkably and wondrously made. If you’ve been a Christian for a while, you’ve probably heard this verse before. So much so that we can nod our heads and say “Yeah, cool” and move on with our days. But I can’t help but think if a guy or girl came up to us and said “Wow, you are so remarkably and wondrously made.” We’d be taken aback. Like one, no one has complimented me with those words before, and two, what a beautiful way to put it. We would probably be astonished, but why is it we so easily forget it, when the One who created us, called us that? That One who fashioned us, who made us exactly how He wanted us to be, and who never makes mistakes or is ever surprised. I think it’s time we start taking God at His word and stop defining our beauty by the world’s standards, that shifts and change with every new trend. Let’s anchor ourselves in the word of God.

In His Eyes, not my eyes. Not the world’s eyes. But His.

Some thoughts & what I’m learning:

1. I don't need to spend my life proving my worth, because Jesus gave His life to prove mine already.

2. Instead of spending your time and energy proving yourself to them, use it to improve yourself. I think the true sign of someone moved on and doing better is someone moved on and doing better.

New substack article on building your dream life—linked in my bio!

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how I’m living my life. There’s so much I want to do, and I’ve always felt like I don’t have enough time. Sometimes I feel crazy for all the things I want to accomplish in this life, and more often than not, they feel out of reach given my reality. I want to make films, but I feel like I don’t have enough resources for it. I want to revamp my business, but I don’t have enough capital. And it goes on: things I want to do, but there is xyz as to why I can’t do them right now.

But I’ve been having this thought circle in my head for a while now: It’s time to get aggressive about the life you want. We only get one life here on Earth, and to think I spend it just talking about the things I want to do but never doing them is what is starting to get to me.

I say I don’t have enough resources, capital, or whatever excuse I can come up with (because that’s really what they are—excuses) for not doing what I dream about, but in reality, I think there’s something else holding me back.

I went to observe the fish, but I observed the people and their wonder instead. It was truly so beautiful to capture, and though it almost goes unnoticed, it’s there and it’s up to us to notice it. May we never lose our wonder of life.
