Legacy solid!💫Last year, Ma was inducted into the Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame @womeninct for her life as a creative catalyst in the world of fashion and writing. Plot twist was her birth town of Springfield, Massachusetts declaring Oct 22nd Barbara Summer’s day. A swanky affair, Barbara Approved. Surreal is an understatement. I blubbered through my speech but fam cheered me on👏🏻. Deep gratitude to Raina Giddings and Siobhan Carter-David🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Aunt Luche for taking the journey with me and of course all my family who came to celebrate🙏🏼 💜✨Happy Birthday Ma! ✨✨✨ #connecticut by @kimsonian

Rest in Melody to my cousin Dahoud Darien. It’s been over a week and still no proper words, just a flood of memories. From kids to adults, from memorizing Run Dmc to the Kane vs Rakim debate, to cassette demo tapes using my aunt’s 45s, to producing forJay, Pun and Bilal. I hope he’s playing keys with his mom, my mom and all our family somewhere at a galactic cookout. Fly on, Dah. 🙏🏼✨🙏🏼 by @kimsonian
