Unversed in the prevailing technology, it was a surprise to me to see how different the photographs two phones produce. I am told social media demands high resolution, but I find I am drawn to the lower, older version! Pleasantly soft focus. What do you think?

It is apparently Bathtub Day. I suspect this is American as we, over here, just call them baths, but tub additions aside, I will be soaking in a steamy, scented bath in celebratory solidarity. It also happens to be Random Acts of Poetry Day, when spontaneous versifying is encouraged, whatever the venue. So, voice soothed by steam, I shall be proclaiming a sonnet or a limerick or two from my bath.
Which will tempt you? Bath? Poetry? Or both?

Exclusive Event: 1950s Fashion Catwalk & Talk 👠✨

Our members enjoyed a lovely time during our fabulous event starring @kimthemuse as our special guest in this ‘1950s Catwalk & Talk’ in celebration of @londonfashionweek .

Families & friends joined in too for the fun of watching a show full of theatrical fashion, including our beloved members of staff - from hospitality, to the care team & the lifestyle team - right on our site!

Followed by this, a Talk: with lifestyle team and starring guest, Kim. An opportunity to face our in-house audience and share touching discussions on all things fashion & laughter! Kim, a local lady of Belgravia shared with us her inspiring journey on how she remains so incredibly involved in the fashion world.

The lovely @artworkersguild hosted a book launch this week, to which I was invited. Anthony Rudolf's memoir, Office Hours in the Studio of Paula Rego, reflects on his longstanding relationship, romantic and creative, with the artist. Art historians, venerable curators and even an Archbishop were there to salute its publication.

“Although people often assume I have a link to fashion or fashion history, it is simply my daily choice of clothing! Heaven knows where it came from, as my mother lives in jeans and has not even possessed a skirt for twenty years. So, it was a great surprise to her when I showed
determined dress opinions from an early age.

I went to full-time ballet school, wanting to be a dancer, until 12 when my ill health made it clear I could not pursue that. I never danced again from that moment.

However, dependency on dressmakers and tailors began because it was hard to find clothes that fitted well, being small. Now I cannot imagine any other way!

If one finds a maker who understands one’s look and life, it is
a marvellous experience.

A chance meeting with the charming @kleonaibrushi , led to my joining some of the @loveday_belgravia team for a 1950s Fashion Catwalk and Talk. It was probably less walk than sashay, but even without the prosecco that was being joyfully imbibed by the audience, I embraced the novel experience, and surprised myself by having fun! What a beautiful place it is, too. Convalescing here would be dream.
