POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The @americanlibraryassociation has been making READ posters for about 40 years! I'm so excited to remake some with my favorite bookish creators for your enjoyment!

Happy November - as we think about voting, school programs, literacy, and more... I hope you continue to find ways to make reading a priority in your life.

Books have made my life better from day 1! From the bedtime stories that connected me with my parents, to the tween Candy Apple books I read in middle school because I felt like I wasn't cool enough, to the books that I get to work on every day for my big girl job in publishing...all I can say is, READING SAVES LIVES.

GOODBYE ☀️ SUMMER

Since I had a reading slump this summer, I asked my friends what they picked up! Swipe to see what people are reading IRL 📚

Now, I have to get into a Fall TBR, since I missed out on my summer reads 🏖️ by @kindlereadsfirst

a night with @eastcitybookshop means great conversation partners & being unable to resist picking up the book. (if you’re sad you missed it, remember ECB does many virtual events, you can log on from your bed for free 😇)

Anna North talked all things BOG QUEEN — a genre bending novel with mystery at its core. Written with the braided narratives of a young forensic anthropologist and the body she’s investigating, this book asks so many questions about women, the past, environmentalism and more!

.

When a body is found in a bog in northwest England, Agnes, an American forensic anthropologist, is called to investigate. But this body is not like any she’s ever seen. Though its bones prove it was buried more than two thousand years ago, it is almost completely preserved.

Soon Agnes is drawn into a mystery from the distant past, called to understand and avenge the death of an Iron Age woman more like her than she knows. Along the way, she must contend with peat-cutters who want to profit from the bog and activists who demand that the land be left undisturbed. Then there’s the moss itself: a complex repository of artifacts and remains, with its own dark stories to tell.

As Agnes faces the deep history of what she has unearthed, she’s also forced to question what she thought she knew about her talent, her self-reliance, and her place in the world. Flashing between the uncertainty of post-Brexit England and the druidic order of Celtic Europe at the dawn of the Roman era, Bog Queen brims with contemporary urgency and ancient wisdom as it connects across time two gifted, farsighted young women learning to harness their strange strengths in a landscape more mysterious and complex than either can imagine. taken in East City Bookshop by @kindlereadsfirst

life lately + the bookstores I can’t help browsing at while on vacation🤍

Sometimes I chastise myself for being so scattered on this app in terms of a clear aesthetic, type of post, etc.

But honestly, I’m reading, I’m posting about the books I love, and it’s not that serious so we can all tell my brain to shut up 😂
