@queerkidlitcamp photo dump! I swear I had a wonderful time even though some of my facial expressions are a little wonky 🤪. Also peep the hypermobility on the last slide 😂🦓. This truly changed me and I have really fallen in love with these people and want them in my life forever. I don’t think I’ve ever been this inspired creatively before either, because the pages have just kept on coming!!!! Maybe next year I’ll go as an author. I guess we’ll see! (Apologies for forgetting to tag anyone!j

Last weekend I attended @queerkidlitcamp for the first time, not knowing what to expect. As someone working towards becoming a published KidLit author, it was such a great experience to be surrounded by so many talented individuals! Being at camp gave me the space to unplug (whether I wanted to or not😂) and be present with those around me. We attended great sessions, crafted, shared stories, sat around the campfire, and gave ourselves permission to just slow down and be our creative selves for a few days. One of the most special moments for me was having two of my fellow campers sit and read my entire manuscript. Up until now, it has mostly been people who know me personally who have read it, so having new readers connect with my story meant a lot (especially when there were so many other fun things around camp they could have been doing!) Thank you to the organizers for all their work making QKC possible. Shout out to the new friends I met along the way, thank you for making this such a welcoming, cozy space and thank you for inspiring me to get back to work with my writing! I hope to return to be able to return to camp next year with some good book news!

March dump✨ Hello friends! It’s been a while (my bad), but I’m here to share that March has been SUCH a good month for me in terms of reading/book events! 💜At the beginning of the month, I went to the launch event for Oathbound!! Being surrounded by so many fellow Breehive members and getting the chance to hear Tracy speak (she is SO smart and funny!!) was such an amazing experience!!! Reading Oathbound was a JOURNEY and I’m honestly still shocked about that ending😳 if anyone is reading it or has read it already, PLEASE send me a message so we can freak out about it together! 🇭🇹Towards the end of the month, I went to a panel event with my sister for Haitian Women authors! It was a packed room and the panelists had such an engaging discussion, so I was so happy I got to be a part of it. I left the event feeling so inspired to dig deeper into my own culture❤️ Plus, I had the opportunity to have my books signed by some of my favorite authors! 📖I feel like I’ve gained such a good reading momentum this month, and I hope I can keep it up for the rest of the year! We are soooo back🤩 #Bookstagram #Bookstagrammer #BlackBookstagrammer #MarchReadingWrapUp #Legendborn #Bloodmarked #Oathbound #TracyDeonn #Breehive #MaikaMoulite #MaritzaMoulite #IbiZoboi #HaitianAuthors #HaitianWomenAuthors #TheStoryGraph
