Another one for the year. Kindling has been named No. 1 Restaurant of the Year on Indonesia’s 100 Best Restaurants 2026 on @besteats.id by @wearefoodies.id.

We opened just over a year ago with a team that believed in what we were building. Every service since has been a quiet act of commitment — from the kitchen to the floor, from the first course to the last.

To our team, and to every guest who has walked through this door: thank you for making this mean something.

One night. Two kitchens. One table.

On 25 September, @chef_zortan of @restaurantborn , Singapore, welcomed @valliannn of @kindlingjkt , Jakarta, for an evening that reminded us why collaboration between chefs who share a common language — French technique, Asian soul, a deep respect for the story behind every ingredient — produces something neither kitchen could arrive at alone.

Chef Vallian brought with him the spirit that named his restaurant: a hopeful start of something great. What unfolded across the courses that evening was exactly that. Two menus in conversation, two points of view finding common ground, and a dining room full of guests who understood they were witnessing something that would not happen again in quite the same way.

To Chef Vallian and the Kindling team — thank you for crossing the causeway and cooking with us. The fire you started here is still warm.

To every guest who joined us for the evening — we hope you felt what we felt on the other side of the pass.

Our home was full for two nights with Chef Sun Kim @sunkimchi and the team from @metasingapore — and we wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Wonderful food, wonderful people, and an evening we’re glad we got to share with everyone who joined us.

Having @potager.kl, @chef_masashi and the team here was genuinely one of the good ones. We got to do this twice — once in Kuala Lumpur, once in this house.

Both evenings reminded us how much we love sharing a kitchen with people who care about what they do.
