“I am incredibly humbled and proud to be elevating kindness in such a meaningful way, challenging the traditional understanding of it by conducting and grounding our work in scientific research. We aim to be the world’s leading authority on kindness, and there’s no better way to show the power and strength of kindness than on an NBA basketball court with the @nyknicks at Madison Square Garden!”

The kind of story we love to hear. 💙

When 18-year-old Jordan Hope noticed an older man outside a Walgreens whose shoes were barely staying on his feet, he turned around and gave him the shoes off his own feet.

Jordan had no idea someone nearby was capturing the moment. The woman who witnessed it later shared the video hoping to find him and let his family know about the kindness she had seen. By the next day, the story was making its way across social media.

But Jordan’s kindness continued after that moment. He went back to check on the man, known as Mr. Roy, and learned that he had lost his wife just two weeks earlier. Jordan bought him lunch, arranged a ride, followed him home and stayed for a while to talk.

Since then, Jordan has continued checking in on Mr. Roy and started a fundraiser to help with groceries and other expenses.

We may have only seen this kindness because someone happened to be watching, but Jordan chose it when he thought no one was. And that makes us love this story even more. by @kindnessorg

Ten years ago, kindness.org began with a belief that kindness could change the world.

Since then, hundreds of millions of people have watched, shared, participated, learned, given, taught, and helped us understand just how powerful kindness can be.

Some of you have been here since the beginning. Some found us somewhere along the way. And some may have known our work before you ever knew our name.

Ten years later, the belief that started it all is stronger than ever.

Thank you for being part of these first ten years of kindness.org.

Here’s to what kindness can do next. by @kindnessorg

There’s a difference between avoiding an awkward moment and looking out for someone. Sometimes kindness is simply saying the thing you’d want someone to say to you.

The best perspective on LearnKind comes from the educators bringing it into their classrooms.

Their experiences help show what kindness education can look like in practice, with real students, in real schools, every day.

We’re grateful to every educator who makes space for kindness in the way they teach.
