I’m so excited to have received a charity bib for the 2026 Boston Marathon with the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism (@flutiefdn)!

This incredible organization supports kids and families impacted by autism by providing vital resources and programs that make a real difference.

@icemarathon recap is finally here!!

It’s taken a while, but finally got my act together and, although out of chronological order, I am beginning with the race recap (and will follow up at some point with posts on our arrival to Antarctica and our day hanging out post race). This post is long – like really, really long (even for me) – like 8 or 9 posts long, so appreciate all those who will indulge me by reading the whole thing (I’m sure most will lose interest somewhere a long the way, but at least look at the pics and vids and skip to the end to see the acknowledgements of all who got me here.)

To start with, this race was by far the most challenging thing I have done to date, and while I knew it was going to be hard, I will be honest and underestimated how difficult it was actually going to be. Inexperience running in the snow, 40 mph wind gusts and -25c temps with the wind chill, wearing too many clothes (hard to believe) and getting my hydration right, all contributed to an extremely challenging race.

The Course

It consisted of a little over a 10K loop done four times, with an aid station at camp where we started and at the halfway point about the 5K mark. While the course was plowed into the snow, it was not as packed as I expected. Parts were like running on a soft trail while others were like running through sand, and snow drifts formed where you would unexpectedly sink in. The level of exertion just to keep moving was definitely more than I expected, and that was before the winds reached 40 mph gusts!!

Medal Monday - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What an amazing race for my sixth star and sixth continent! It was a great day and had the best cheerleader out there giving me a big boost when I needed it. I ran such a consistent race and battled through the hills with just a truly spectacular finish at the Opera House. (I wish I had enjoyed it more, I was booking to try to hit 4 hrs, but missed by 3 seconds - while it doesn’t define what was a great race for me, I’ll be honest those 3 seconds are going to bug me for a while 😂).

Thanks to everyone who offered their support along the way, it truly means a lot to me and is always appreciated!

Sam and I have had the best time in Sydney and wish we had more time to explore other parts of Australia (just means we need to come back!)

I couldn’t have imagined when I started this running journey during COVID and the virtual @onepeloton happy hours that I would get to see so much of the world and meet so many great people along the way. I have now traveled to all 7 continents but still have one race to go to have run them all - hopefully Tokyo in 2028 and for my 7th star!

I am truly blessed to be able to travel the world with my family doing something I have grown to love.
