King of Fried Rice has launched a new concept — @kingofkrapow — and its first outlet has opened at Hawkers’ Street in Bukit Panjang Plaza. Their signature wok hei fried rice now comes topped with fragrant Thai basil stir-fry, with your choice of pork belly, prawns, minced pork or minced chicken. Go for the pork belly with minced pork. The savoury meat, aromatic Thai basil and punchy seasoning pair beautifully with the tasty fried rice underneath. You can customise your spice level and choose from 0, 1 or 2 eggs. Here’s the trick! Break the yolk, mix everything together, and let it coat the fried rice and meat for an extra layer of richness. 🇹🇭 if you haven’t heard, @kingofkrapow is the new thai-inspired concept from the same team behind King of Fried Rice!! King of Fried Rice founder is back with a brand-new concept in the West: King of Kra Pao. 🍳🔥 | @kingofkrapow ​Taking over a spot at BK Coffeeshop in Jurong West, this new brand focuses on Thai Pad Kra Pao driven by high-heat wok frying, deep wok hei, and fiery dried chili spice. ​Here is what I had: ----------- • ​Egg Fried Rice Base: Instead of plain Jasmine rice, every dish is built on a base of comforting short-grain egg fried rice that absorbs the savoury stir-fry sauces well without being greasy. • ​Hot-Oil Crispy Eggs: Wok-fried in hot oil to achieve ultra-crispy, lacy edges while keeping the yolk rich and runny. Ordering 2 eggs is mandatory for me since I don't mind the cholesterol 👀 and so 1 of the runny yolk can coats the entire rice base! 🥩 ​The Meat & Spice Breakdown: • ​Pork Belly & Minced Pork (Not Spicy): Strips away the heat so the dark soy marinade, heavy garlic aromas, and deep wok hei take centre stage. Great for low spice tolerances! • ​Prawn & Minced Pork (Mildly Spicy🌶): Hits the absolute sweet spot!
