[King of Krapow - Bendemeer Shopping Centre] Fresh sunnies, fried rice base, and a familiar KOFR touch 🍳🔥 Tried King of Krapow at Bendemeer Shopping Centre, right beside my favourite King of Fried Rice stall. Being a KOFR venture, I was curious to see how their krapow would stack up. Went for the Pork Belly + Minced Pork with Double Sunnies, and the first thing that stood out was that they use fried rice instead of plain rice as the base. It’s a simple switch that adds extra flavour and makes the dish more satisfying. The highlight for me was definitely the freshly cooked sunnies. Unlike some places that prepare eggs in batches and leave them sitting for extended periods (potential food safety issues), these are cooked upon order, giving you that fresh-off-the-pan experience with lovely runny yolks to mix into the rice. The minced pork was decent, while the pork belly was flavourful, though I think it would be even better with a crispier rind for more crunch. AND OFC WE HAD TO TRY the basil-powered pad krapow served on their famous fried rice!! 🔥 📝 here’s the honest breakdown: 🐷 Pork Belly w Minced Pork, double egg ($9.90, spice level 2) - diced pork belly & minced pork wok-tossed with basil & chilli, piled onto their signature fried rice then topped with a double golden yolk sunny side up!! 🤤 mouth is alr watering typing it out & it’s also POWPOW’S FAV on the menu 🤭 the belly also adds extra texture to the whole dish!! 🌶️ Minced Pork, double egg ($7.90, spice level 3) - also went with the double yolk here, and went full send on spice too, NO REGRETS!! 😋 the basil & chilli come through so much stronger, mixed straight into the fried rice, seriously damn shiok! 💡 pro tip - spice goes up to level 3, and don’t skip mixing the double yolk through the rice before you dig in!! we ordered both bowls with the double egg upgrade & really damn worth it!! 💬 verdict: didn’t know fried rice and pad krapow could work so well together!! 👍🏻 & a huge thank you to @kingofkrapow for the warm invite, will be back to try the prawn options next! 📌 if you’re looking for a new boon keng lunch spot, save @kingofkrapow!! 📍 King of Krapow 27 Bendemeer Road, GHK Coffeeshop S330027 also at Bukit Panjang Plaza & 491 Jurong West Ave 1 #eatwithdom #kingofkrapow #friedrice #sgeats #sgfoodie
