Not the Man Pt. VI: “Self Portrait with Cropped Hair, 2025.”

The last installment of my project, and possibly the most thematically significant piece, Self Portrait with Cropped Hair, is an homage to a Frida Kahlo painting of the same name. This painting inspired this whole project, and challenged how I interpret my own gender, and gender presentation. Frida has always been a huge inspiration to me, not only as a Mexican, but as a woman and an artist who dares to challenge gender roles and societal expectations. Without her influence, this project wouldn’t be what it is. I’d also like to say a big thank you to everyone who’s supported this project and showed love for my art. You make my world go round 🖤 by @kingrora_photo
