Grabbed this little artifact today. Back in 86-87 I got a promo flyer for the 1st issue of Phigments and possibly met the creative team at a convention. I could be remembering wrong and met them when I grabbed the first issue. Anyway I never got the second issue until today. The best part is when you find a singed comic in the wild as this contains Staten Island’s own @evandorkin signature. Signed nearly 40 years ago!!! Evan has been delighting us with the saga of Winky the Pirate Girl and of course his wonderful comics. Long may The Dork run. by @kingsurfcomics

Kolchak and Cooper (2026) I think Carl’s voiceover may sound something like this “I received a tip that put me in touch with another FBI agent. This time I headed to the Pacific Northwest. I conducted several interviews with this agent across multiple locations for coffee. I gained seven pounds with all the pie he insisted I try. Luckily all the coffee I was also prompted to sample gave me the jitters so bad I probably burned all the calories off. He was quirky but hos story was unbelievable.” #kolchak #kolchakthenightstalker #twinpeaks #agentdalecooper by @kingsurfcomics

Since I can’t post what I’m working on check out the comics I picked up yesterday. @jon_bogdanove drew up a bunch of colorforms ah I mean “vinyl clings” for this Superman cover. Still in its poly bag keeping that 90’s smell intact. Also scored a dope Thing Pin. Classic Kirby. Oh yeah and Benjamin J. Grimm (the cat) looking on. by @kingsurfcomics

Welcome to 2026. Made a couple of corrections (?) to this painting. Love some things and hate others. I’m totally gonna fiddle while Rome burns. #vincentprice #thefallofthehouseofusher #watercolor #horror by @kingsurfcomics

#2025 was a challenging year but I’m grateful for the time I’ve been able to spend on art. I’ve got big plans for my work in 2026. More prints, more stickers, more places to buy my work. Look for a gallery show and publishing in the coming year! by @kingsurfcomics

R.I.P. Ace Frehley A legend who mixed image and ability into a potent combo of rock. I know there’s no way I’d have played a Sunburst Les Paul if not for him. A friend once described Trauma Team666’s music as sounding like early KISS. A better compliment I personally couldn’t have been given. Ride on Spaceman by @kingsurfcomics

WIP Kolchak and Mr. Chicken (2025) Carl’s on his way back from Metropolis and stops through Rachel, Kansas. He meets up with Luther Heggs, local reporter and occasional ghost-breaker. They have a romp. #kolchakthenightstalker #kolchak #theghostandmrchicken #lutherheggs #donknotts #darrenmcgavin by @kingsurfcomics
