What a wicked week of development with @workingtitleplaywrights and @theatricaloutfit ~ feels like we finally unlocked part two! Scenes that I have been banging my head over. Just moments before the performance, we changed the ending 😂 #NewPlays

I am so proud to be an Atlanta based playwright. What a gift it is to be creating with this amazing community of artists. Don’t sleep on the South y’all… if you were in the audience, thank you, it was really special. You were the first audience I got to experience it with!

proud playwright 💞

“During one hot Texas summer at a Charismatic Christian camp, an idealistic counselor works to shepherd the senior girls’ cabin along their journey to make an authentic connection with something bigger than themselves, only to be confronted with disillusionment of her own faith. A visceral ode to female desire, submission, rebellion, and growing up in a religious culture that’s obsessed with purity.”

Thank you to everyone who has made the publishing launch of “oh to be pure again,” so special.

I wouldn’t have wanted to celebrate this milestone any other way than with the community who supported it, many who worked on the world premiere production @aexpress in 2023. Three years feels like a lifetime ago, and yet so easy to access as if we never left camp.

We got to reminisce, make paper fortune tellers, read scenes off the page, and sign each other’s copies like yearbooks.

Thank you to everyone who has purchased a copy! What a dream come true. May this story continue to unshackle us from shame, empower you to have agency over your body, and connect you to the divine inside of you and all around you.

Thank you @thebooksandbrew for being an incredible host! Seriously y’all it’s the perfect indie bookstore with the best vibes and yummy bites and assortment of bevvies.

Thank you @1319press for championing new plays. I am so grateful to officially be in your catalogue! ⋆˙⟡ ⋆.˚ ⊹₊⟡ ⋆⋆˙⟡ ⋆.˚ ⊹₊⟡ ⋆⋆˙⟡ ⋆.˚ ⊹₊⟡ ⋆⋆˙⟡ ⋆.˚ ⊹₊⟡ ⋆⋆˙⟡ ⋆.˚ ⊹₊⟡ ⋆⋆˙⟡ ⋆.˚ ⊹₊⟡ ⋆ taken in Books & Brew by @kirarockwell

The Founding Unholy Diamonds invite you to celebrate “oh to be pure again” being in print with @1319press this Labor Day, September 7th from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Books & Brew in Tucker.

There will be bites, bevvies, and plays for purchase, plus plenty of summer camp-themed crafts and activities. We’ll even have a casual reading of a few scenes with the original campers who are forever imbued into these characters.

Feel free to share this come-and-go event with others in our community! You can RSVP via Partiful, by DMing me on insta, or by text so we can give our lovely hosts at @thebooksandbrew a good head count. Yay indie bookstores!

Invite Design by my lovie: @markusrockwell 💞

p.s. No purchase of any kind is required. Getting to raise a glass with the folks who nurtured and supported this play is more than enough. taken in Books & Brew by @kirarockwell

Theatre is ephemeral but print is forever! So many amazing artists and organizations have nurtured this play along its journey, and I’m so thrilled that the word premiere crew @aexpress & the meaningful development with @gptcplays and @nationalnewplaynetwork will be credited in ink indefinitely. And for the og campers to be on the cover is just so so special.

Feels like I’m still waking up from a dream. Last week we closed the workshop premiere of my very first two-hander, The Penelopes. I’m so grateful for the last eight months where I got to translate a faint whisper into a full play.

I couldn’t have done it without the brilliant @x.alejandra.xx who held this play, me, and our team, with such a graceful, steady hand, mind, heart, and soul, from the moment I had the idea and texted asking if she would be my partner in sorcery.

Thank you to @maria_sager and @brandy__bell who gave bones to words and helped me make plot out of a real time conversation. A literal magic trick! I am truly changed by our time together in the rehearsal room. Getting to collaborate and witness their craft every night was a gift.

Thank you to our incredible design team who texturized this world with their generous creativity and ingenuity. We couldn’t have effectively cast this spell without you.

Thank you @theatricaloutfit for giving us the keys to your playground. @leavesonanechotree for your dramaturgical support and sharing your tarot knowledge with us.

And finally, thank you to every single person who joined us on the porch, physically and spiritually. Sharing this story with audiences for the first time was an absolute honor.

The end of this chapter feels like just the beginning of a new one for this play, and for this team. Porch girl summer forever.

Last year my favorite playwright asked me to direct her new play. And then I assembled the most immaculate team. And now rehearsals are underway. And every single day I leave the room feeling nothing but gratitude and awe. I can’t wait to share this with you. The Penelopes. July 15th, 18th, 22nd and 25th.
